Just on the phone to Epson 'Northern' support. He said 'can I hang on a minute while I find out more'. I think he's gone off to take his whippet for a walk.

Did you start off by asking him whether you should put it in from the front or the back ?

If he's looking for someone in a call centre who knows what they are talking about, you could have a long wait !

Re: The Children's Off Topic Thread
Usually, when it's not too old, the clean routine in the maintenance menu sorts it, but eventually when it's a few years old it's chuck it time. To be honest I've never run one on Epson inks because they are so much more expensive but they may clog eventually anyway. But the difference in price saves more than enough to buy a new one every 5 years and of course the spec has improved by then anyway.towny44 wrote:What happens when they do clog, I could not see that the cradle on my XP335 could be removed, so it will be difficult to clean. Does returning to Epson inks clean it up, or do you just throw it away?Mervyn and Trish wrote:I'm happy with Epson. Ink heads clog eventually if you use cheap ink but two refills with cheap stuff and you've saved enough for the next printer.

Cold today. I might have to put a second layer of thermals and a coat on.

Merv, which supplier do you use for inks? I may as well try the one you prefer first .

I use IJT Direct. Got my last printer there too. They do a bizarre deal where if you buy 2 or 3 sets of inks they give you the printer. It's usually a model that's just been replaced but I'm more than satisfied with the last one they "gave" me.

Re: The Children's Off Topic Thread
Thanks for the info Merv, I have used them in the past but I found their HP equivalent inks did not agree with my last printer, especially for photographs, I might give a try though for the Epson.

A bit chilly ooop north today, and from today weather forecasts it seems next week's heatwave has been postponed.

I have a Canon printer and I wouldn't insult it by using anything other than genuine Canon cartridges.

Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

It's almost impossible to insult the Japanese, my boss tried hard in every negotiation we had, and all they did was smile and say thank you.Manoverboard wrote:I have a Canon printer and I wouldn't insult it by using anything other than genuine Canon cartridges.
