I would be very surprised if they were. They are a top 5 club so will probably get away with a slapped wrist. They should of course but all of us who support smaller clubs know that there's one rule for them and one for the rest of us. EUFA knew that they were up to no good a year or so ago. They got away with that one thanks to lawyers and loopholes. This will run and run until we all forget about it that is what they hope.Ray B wrote: 07 Feb 2023, 14:16Will Manchester City get kicked out of the PL. Will be interesting to see how it pans out, there is a lot of money resting on the decision.

They will get away with anything, basically, because money talks.

Great result for us today. We played Spurs off the park. Scored some great goals and thoroughly deserved the win. The three signings we made in January didn't cost a lot of money but have made a big difference. Very impressive.

We were awful. Brighton played us off the park but who cares, we got a point.

Re: Football 22/23
Brighton have bought well and are a good team. Potter did a good job with them.
We seem to have abandoned the slow, irritating, pass the ball around the back without purpose style in favour of a more energetic, high press, more aggressive approach and it is certainly paying dividends. Spurs looked a poor team today. Amazing what a difference a week makes for them.

Unlucky Foxy I thought you played really well, especially the first half, two world class saves kept us in it. I thought Utd got the rub of the green over the Sabitzer challenge, should have been off and how was Rashford not given offside.? Think the VAR man is a Red. Second half the quality showed and we should have scored more. Hey Ho, that’s football.

Re: Football 22/23
I can't argue with that screwy. We were well on top in the first half but failed to take our chances. Sabitzer should have gone, frustratingly we got two yellow cards for much less. I don't know what your manager said at half time but you came out a different team altogether, we stood back and ultimately it could have been a right car crash of a result.
It might have been different had you been down to 10 men but ultimately the quality of your players shone through.

Good bye Motty. John Motson passed away today. He will always be remembered very fondly at Palace.
RIP John. " And somewhere out the crowd came Pardew".

As did Kenneth Wolstenholme, Motson became an icon of his day for football commentating (and sales of sheepskin coats!!
RIP. You will long be remembered.

Motty and Martin Tyler were contemporaries before the PL started, Motson for the Beeb and Tyler for ITV, Yorkshire TV as it was then.
Tyler accepted Sky's silver dollar and became the leading commentator for them, and is still going at 77, the same age as Motty.

Can't say I'm keen on these women commentators screeching when a goal is scored.

I don't suppose many of you glory seeking Premier league fans will have noticed Gillingham's huge upturn in fortune since the January transfer window and a new owner taking over (with money)
We've gone from seven points adrift to seven points clear.
Last eight fixtures since the new year.

If I remember correctly after we played you in the cup I said I saw no reason why you were in the drop zone. Pleased to hear the Foxes ignited your season.barney wrote: 28 Feb 2023, 13:56I don't suppose many of you glory seeking Premier league fans will have noticed Gillingham's huge upturn in fortune since the January transfer window and a new owner taking over (with money)

It seems we have a knack of igniting a few seasons when teams play us. I wish someone would set our season going!!!

It's great when a struggling club turn results around and start climbing the table instead of sacking the manager. Patience is what is needed, you get your rewards in the end.

Re: Football 22/23
Well beaten by Bradford tonight
Two defensive errors = two goals
Had a few chances but when it’s not happening, it’s just not.
Unfortunately, due to injuries, we put out a much weakened team and boy, did it show.
Bradford were masters in game management and shithousery and good for the win.

Re: Football 22/23
Well played Blackburn Rovers who were worthy winners last night. For the greater part of the match they outfought, outthought and outplayed us whilst we played Billy Big Boys possession football around the back line without any threat. Their press eventually led to mistakes, largely because our players aren't good enough for possession football and ultimately mistakes were made which led to their goals. And they could have had more so the scoreline could easily have been greater.
If anybody wants a manager whose tactics are so turgid and drains whatever life and excitement there is out of a game then they are welcomed to ours. Against Villa and Spurs who went onto the front foot and won. Suddenly we revert back to type and think we can get away with it. My team are in for a few shocks if we continue like that. I don't mind losing if we have made a game of it but last night's performance was a disgrace and well done to Blackburn for showing us how to play. They deserved their win and good luck to them.
