I've brought two or three TV's over the past year, all went back for some reason or other.
I reviewed a LG 49" on Which. Sounded the bees knees until I went and viewed it. Didn't like the cheap silver painted stand and frame. And it had a white  back cover, what's that all about. Yes, I know I don't sit looking at the back of the TV, but it would still bug me. Oh well back to the drawing board.

As for the oven, again a Which best buy. A shame they didn't mention it's now a discontinued model.

So all in all a complete waste of time.

For me there is only one TV worth buying and that is a Panasonic. Our local Euronics retailer have an offer at present with an Ultra HD tv about £550 for a 55" TV.

Oven = Neff

TV = Curved UHD Samsung with Freesat, tis much better viewing than mere TV Ariel and HD and regardless of brand.

ps .... 5 yr guarantee at JL and 6 yrs at Richer Sounds.

pps ... Panasonic sub £2k are inferior items made in Hungary.

Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

I agree, all my entertainment equipment is Panasonic, but have you seen the latest stock. The stands and screen frames are dire.

Our local Currys had a large (~60inch) Ultra HD TV on display last week, which was absolutely superb. Mind you, with a price tag of £3.6k it ought to be! I wonder how many of those they actually sell.....

Welsh police to get new helicopter to counteract Russian invasion

The Welsh Assembly have signed off on a new helicopter for the Welsh police to counter any invasion by Russia.

The new helicopter will have flashing lights, a very loud megaphone and a hole in the window for police to shoot their BB guns out of.

A spokesman for the Welsh government told WalesOnCraic:

“In times when we have a raised threat of invasion from the Russians, we have to be seen to be moving with the times and protecting our territory. We signed off last night on a new police helicopter that can stand up to any threat from any country. It has flashing lights that will scare any war-mongering invaders away and if that doesn’t work, we’ve got a very loud megaphone that we can shout ‘Go away’ through. If all else fails, there’s a hatch in the window where our boys can shoot down Russian bombers with their BB guns. If that doesn’t work, the new helicopter can go very fast and will be able to chase nuclear missiles like Superman did in that film, Superman.”

One police officer said:

“Can’t wait to give it a test ride. We’ll take on the Reds whatever they throw at us. Bagsies I drive.”

Never mind the trivia like the constitutional wrangles over Brexit, the Westmorland Gazette reports the news that REALLY matters.

They may be local but they seem quite switched on, the cheeky sods put a half page banner on my screen telling me to turn off my Ad Blocker.

At New Year some prat let a batch off at around 02.30 in the morning. I had to get up at 07.00 the following morning, as I was working that day; - and having done so, was sorely tempted to let some off myself!

Lovely morning here. Bright and sunny, and understandably cold.
