Good result last night and this amazing run continues. Are they Barcelona in disguise?
Nope, that is Huddersfield. Yet another game with over 60% possession - but this time the scoreline reflected the dominance.

5-0 is a good score by anyone's standards, but to be fair, Charlton were beyond woeful. Johnnie Jackson (their stalwart and captain) has promised that the players will refund the ticket price for those few unfortunates who witnessed such a shambles. Jackson was the only one of their players who IMO showed any fight or desire/pride.

Funny thing is that we didn't play as well as we did against Reading at the weekend (which we drew 2-2), and nowhere near as well as we played against Boro (which we lost 2-0)!! Work that one out!!??

How is Nahki Wells doing nowadays? I remember he was one who showed a lot of promise.

Nahki has been rejuvenated by the new regime. 5 goals in 5 games and the speculation has started about him leaving. But he's insisting that he's going nowhere.

I remember Nahki at Bradford and he was a little livewire.

Kemar Roofe of Oxford seems to be in a similar style and I think he'll play at a much higher level.

There are loads kicking around the lower leagues that rarely get the chance

Not much to talk about. Unless you're a Leicester, Watford or Gillingham fan?

Town lost away at Brighton, despite enjoying 60% of the possession - which is something few teams will match down there. But, at the end of the day, it was nil points coming home from the south coast. I'm still very optimistic that Herr Wagner will get us up the table and safe (at the least), but we have conceded a goal following our own corner for 2 successive games, which needs addressing, IMO.

Just enjoyed watching Hudds U21's beat the Saints at Southampton, courtesy of the Saint's live streaming on Youtube. The future looks bright for Hudds, that's now 16 matches unbeaten, with 14 wins on the spin and 15 out of 16!

Interesting Romig , about the possession stats.

This has come more to the forefront since Man Utd stopped winning.

Saturday, Gills beat Peterborough at home, and they had 60% possession
Southend beat Coventry at home and Coventry had 63% possession. By the way Southend won 3-0

Got me thinking.
Gills seem to setting up at home as the away team.
Hitting quickly on the break.
Our first goal Saturday was about ten seconds from winning the ball in midfield to back of the net.
Only lost one at home this season so far so we must be doing something right

Great away performance from The Foxes.

Huth was great, at both ends.
Loved the Mahrez(sp?) goal - the commentators were right when they said that he'd given Hart "the eyes" before he hammered it in the near post.

Who took 5000-1 on Leicester winning the Premiership at the beginning of the season ?

Now 7-4 favorites to take the title

Plenty of folks in Leicester, i would imagine. I hope that if they do, it doesn't bankrupt any small local bookies?

I wish I'd put a tenner on them. For my money that little Kante fella is just outstanding. It's an unbelievable run of form.

I was hoping Mob's lot would do us a favour by beating Spurs. :(

There are plenty of people who have a small flutter on their team each year, regardless of the odds. At long odds, perhaps just a couple of pounds each way. I always have a bet on Huddersfield - I consider it as a bit of charitable giving to the local bookies :-)

Playing fairly well (apart from last week), dominating possession and shots in almost every match - but just not being clinical enough. We also always look likely to concede. I'm a bit disappointed that we couldn't sign either/both of a striker and centre back in the Jan window, but still have plenty of faith in David Wagner and his methods/philosophy.

I had to chuckle during the Man C v Leicester match yesterday - in relation to the appeals for a Man City penalty. Even after about 20 slow-mo replays from countless different angles, which were poured over by the pundits (including Howard Webb), they decided that it was (most likely) the correct decision by the referee on the pitch.
Considering that the ref gets to see the incident only once, at full speed, with (potentially) other players obscuring his view, I think this put into context what a difficult job they have.
I'm all for a bit of referee-bashing when they make a howler - but am amazed that many fans seem to expect almost perfection from the officials.

Fat chance, they are a far better team than us so only losing 0:1 was entirely acceptable. Could have been much worse but for Goalie Gomez

I watched your game and could hardly believe how easy it was for you Foxes to take Man City apart, problem is that you now have an easy ride to the end of the season so may take your foot off the peddle ... ideally starting on March 5th

When the stakes are so high, as they are now, I fail to understand why we don't have video evidence as used in rugby and cricket. It seems to work well enough there. No doubt the purists would be against it but it would cut out a great deal of dodgy decisions, including the cheating b*****ds who dive in the box when nobody is within miles of them.
Mind you, when I watched Huth's second goal a few times yesterday it looked like he was climbing on their chap's shoulders! Best leave things as they are?

OBF, I agree that video evidence should be used. It's so difficult to make the decision in real time ( knowing that the expert pundits will pore over the slo-mo video for hours to prove you're wrong). There are different types of evidence. I like the rugby system of multiple camera angles & also cricket's infra red evidence of ball hitting willow. I am slightly less keen on the cricket sound evidence and have doubts about simulation evidence as seen football & tennis. I guess what happens here is that ball movement is analysed & a series of calculations are applied to decide where the ball bounced or if it crossed the line. Inherent in the calculations there must be some approximations which in some cases limit the reliability of the result. I guess that is acceptable as long as the premise of using the technology is ' we are using this because it would be unfair to ask a human to judge this situation'. In which case the competitors can accept the decision made by the technology.

Wenger OUT

Seriously his time is up, isn't it?

They should make a serious punt for the Spurs guy Pottechino and give him £100 million to spend, because that is what City & Chelsea will be doing next season.

As for the mighty Gills,
still hanging in there :o

Wenger played the best side he could muster, he cannot do more than that, but his team were beaten by the hard working Hornets and two well taken opportunistic goals.

Yeah !!!! Another Tin Pot team rules ok

ps ... if you want to see the goal of the season then watch MOTD FA Cup this evening on BBC1.
