My wife keeps saying we should get a dishwasher but I have resisted that option as I think she is just getting lazy

Mobietta tells me that we have had a visit by a couple of ' Greater Spotted Woodpeckers ', not totally rare in these ere parts but deffo rare in our garden.

We get almost daily visits from our woodpecker, this requires me having to make frequent visits to the hardware store for peanuts. We also have a Nuthatch that is burying the nuts under the gravel drive.

On a much sadder note, I had to dispatch Susie a couple of days ago…don’t know what was the cause of her illness other than to say she’s been looking like Stephen looks first thing in the morning.

A 4 day old dead diseased Chicken for your dinner ?

With a possible shortage of turkey this Christmas it may be handy to know if Onelife still has chickens.
A night time raid and if they are tough a good boil will be required.

That’s why they’re cheaping, the poor little s*ds are starving. No wonder the other one had to be croaked.

I don’t know if you are aware of this but it is well documented that some birds leave gifts for those who feed them, I myself have heard of this but up until now have been a little sceptical as to how true it is. My wife feeds the birds on a daily basis, and is rewarded with an assortment of different feathered friends to our garden. About two years ago she got two crows to the point where she would put food out then wave her arms and both crows would descend down to the bird table.

This last four days a crow/s have left her a gift of a coloured pebble placed on the bird table… I’m now left thinking there is truth in the fable….I’ve asked my wife to up the quality of feed in the hope that the next gift could be a gold ring or a wristwatch.

Good morning twitchers, once again we will be hoping for a bumper clutch of chicks this season and looking at our bird boxes we’re not going to be disappointed. We have two families of House Sparrows taken up residence and a pair of Blue Tits which are still undecided, looking promising though. No sign of our House Martins yet. We have had an assortment of birds nesting in the lid of our gas tank over the past few years…a Robin last year and a Pied Wagtail the year before (two clutches) so fingers crossed for either of the same this year.
Any new residents in your back yard?

We had some Gold Finches a couple of weeks ago.

We have tits in the box and a blackbird in the neighbors bush. One thing that has been noticeable is the complete lack of sparrows this year. Couple of gold finches visit the feeders but other than that, were have all the birds gone.?
