Now I think from his posts on other topics that OL is a pretty decent bloke whom I would be more than happy to share a drink with on a cruise (his round of course). And I respect his right to be opposed to the Monarchy, which he shares with a good few others.

I also understand his delight that M&H are rocking that boat.

However i didn't approve of his language in respect of members of the Royal Family, and indicated so at the time.

I also, and here I could be wrong and stand to be corrected, believe him to be an intelligent bloke (no sniggering at the back please).

I therefore don't think he is really taken in by the tripe that Harry is spouting.and can see as the rest of us the glaring holes in the story they tell, the disproven 'mis-remembering' (Harry's own word) as well as the rest of us. But it suits his republican campaign to wind up those of us who would not describe the Monarchy as archaic, rather a splendid ceremonial tradition.

Of course I could be wrong. He could be a total plonker. But I don't think so.
Hi Sir Merv,

A very thoughtful insight as to my intellectual profile, and one which I feel you have delivered in a very sympathetic way. Thank you.

I think it only fair that I return a similar profile analyst for which I can confidently say I have no doubt as to your intellectual capabilities  ….Ok' now that we have done with the niceties let’s get serious…Having spoken to my mate Stephen he was saying that the last time you offered to buy a drink was when they were giving them away free at the Queen’s coronation…and now having seen how you would like to share a drink with me, I believe him.

With regards to my flowery descriptions of “Royal family members” I have beaten myself up about it on several occasion but always get up with a smile on my face, which perhaps is how those offended should have taken my comments, nevertheless, I have taken Carole’s views onboard and cleaned up my act.

Talking about acts, I can assure you that there is no pretence in my belief that Harry’s side of the story does have factual references to the truth, therefore I remain committed to the cause of defending his right to expose them, despite having been ridiculed to the extent that it has brought me to tears for fear of a good slapping.

Btw…the last person to call me a plonker got a right mouthful…so best not go there

OL is a good egg............................just a bit cracked!!!
However I believe he has all of us to thank for his promotion as it is we who have egged him on to respond. But if he's getting the drinks in to celebrate I'll be very happy to drink with him. One of Merv's better ideas.

"Harry is utterly consistent as he shares information. Some people may not like what he says, some may think he is oversharing private moments, but the fact is he is telling the truth.

She could of course be telling a pack of lies.

Or she could be wrong, since some of the things he's said have been demonstrated as wrong, for example booking tickets on an Air New Zealand flight that doesn't exist.

I’m not aware of what you are referring to but I dare say there are forgetful moments in any recollection of what one thinks to be the truth.

How utterly demoralizing it must be for the genuine hard working metropolitan police officers doing their best to make a safer world for the public, only to hear that another police officer has brought disgrace on the force, this time as a serial rapist. The force has always had a bad reputation, but the severity of crimes recently does make it extremely hard for the public all over the country to have confidence in their police force.
I haven’t as yet caught up on this story Ray but it does turn your stomach on hearing such stories…The tragic case of Sarah Everard is never far from my thoughts and this kind of revelation sadly brings it to the fore again.

Hi Ray,

I listened to the report you highlighted this afternoon about the police officer committing those rapes. My first reaction was as it would be for most of us, so I won’t go into that. I think we need to ask ourselves how this was allowed to go undetected when it appears there were several reasons to question whether he should have been in the police force at all. I think it is fair to assume that most who join the police do so for the right reasons but it is my belief that in some cases the profession fails their expectations, this could be due to the pressure of work in tackling increased crime, of which may lead to an increased level of complacency in knowing they don’t have the resources to tackle the crime. Whether this is true I don’t know, but if it is then you can see how this kind of complacency becomes endemic thought-out all levels of policing. This, it could be argued, is why the police are reluctant to stay observant and report bad practices within its own ranks. An officer with twenty years’ experience will carry a considerable amount of unchallenged power and this in my opinion is why some rogue officer can get away with rape and murder.

I understand forces are trying to stamp out bad practices but this is going to be a very slow process when the ratio of police to crime seems to be decreasing… this turns a vocational job into one of just going through the paces with low morale and the opportunities for some to abuse the power invested in them...just my opinion of course.

I believe this is what Merv was referring to OL.

You couldn't make it up, but clearly Harry can. Wouldn't you think he would check his facts knowing they would be open to scrutiny and ultimately ridicule for his 'inaccuracies'?

On the subject of the Met I have some sympathy for the good, honest policemen and women dedicated to doing a good job who will now find their job made all the more difficult as a consequence of the actions of a significant minority. I expect it wasn't easy before but now it will be much more difficult. They have a lot of work to do to restore faith and trust.

Thanks for the link, Foxy…. I think it must be a trait he inherited from his father who couldn’t remember his charity receiving £1 million+ gift from the Bin laden family.

If this was a little off centre of the truth then it was right that the firm tipped off ANZ, into flagging this up…it is clear they are running out of options to discredit Harry and Lovely Meghan… we should soon be hearing about how Meghan brutally kicked the Corgis.

I was reading an article the other day where it was saying… in certain parts of Birmingham they don’t need police patrols they need the Army patrols.

Why would the Firm need to tip off ANZ? I understood the book was available in English, a language widely understood in NZ.

Frankly the Firm don't need to do anything to discredit Harry. He's doing very well at that all by himself. But I'm shocked to hear about Meghsn kicking the corgis. You should sell that one to Netflix.

Pure speculation but you would have thought ANZ would have had better things to do other than to expose who booked what with them...but hey! Where’s there’s an opportunity to discredit Harry and lovely Meghan the Firm will no doubt be involved to some degree…it’s what they do.

To be fair John…he is trying to juggle lots of balls at the same time what with him defending his wife’s honour and making shed loads of money curtesy of the media onslaught.
