The EU empire may be closer to falling than the EU zealots think.

I think that the attached link says more about the EU than I could
https://www.politico.eu/article/spain-u ... sts-spain/

Colony ? How dare they! What an insult to the people of Gibraltar.
They claim to be the purveyors of democracy while ignoring the wishes of simple folk at every turn.
I'm blooming glad that we are getting out and will be our own masters.

And before the anti democrats jump on the bandwagon and point out that Gibraltar voted to remain in the EU, yes I know that they did.
And if they wanted a referendum to leave the jurisdiction of the UK in favour of Spain, I'm 100% sure the UK government to allow it.
But taking it by stealth is outrageous.

They condemn Russia for annexing Crimea, and then try to do the very same thing with Gibraltar and Northern Ireland.

History shows us that ultimately all Empires fall.
The EU empire may be closer to falling than the EU zealots think.

But it's OK when we did it in the 1980's eh?

Are there any lengths you won't stoop to to justify and protect your beloved EU. Stockholm Syndrome comes to mind. Stockholm is in Sweden. Sweden is in the EU. How will you cope when we have left.?

Fascinating programme. Shows it warts and all. ...
That's funny, I must have seen a different episode.
The one I saw had a state on the fringes of the EU, after causing trouble for some time, trying to tell the the EU how things were going to be.
Understandably the other 27 came together to do whatever they could, whilst maintaining the integrity of the union.

But I do agree, fascinating.
Jack, if you feel that's the way the rest of the EU view the UK, then why are you so keen to remain a member and for us continue to be a sidetracked sideshow??
Jack, I am still waiting for an answer to the above question, still not wanting to answer the difficult questions???>

That wasn't a difficult question, it was a pathetic loaded one.

You are obviously attempting to ask something along the lines of the old classic "Have you stopped beating your wife?".

Hence I shall ignore it. You are welcome to ask a sensible question however. Go on, have a go, you might just be able.

You're still slippery as an eel Jack, are you sure you aren't a politician since you have all the cunning characteristics of one?

Well I thought it was a sensible question to ask of someone who is such a staunch supporter of the EU, and who also claims to be a patriotic UK supporter, but is content to accept the ridicule of the other 27.

Tusk's comment and the subsequent jumping on the bandwagon by Guy Verhofstadt just go to reinforce that we need to get away from this toxic and offensive institution as soon as possible.

Well, I doubt Lucifer would welcome them, as after what they did to Britain, they would even manage to divide hell.

At the end of the day, if they don't wish to talk, then eff them.

Every time Verhofstadt opens his mouth he reinforces why millions voted to leave this circus.
I'm ok if they want to do a reciprical deal, but if not, then we just leave without the WA.

As Mr Juncker and Tusk were very keen on saying at the beginning, nothing is agreed until everything is agreed.

Tusk is saying that he's sick of those who instigated Brexit not having a clue how to complete it.

You might not like the way he put it - but he does have a point.

He may well have a point Gill, but he knows that comments like this will inflame the situation and are unnecessary at this stage.
It's becoming more obvious as to why he is so detested in Poland and why he was so easily beaten in their election.
The same with Verhofstadt in Belgium.
Paradoxically, Juncker is a legend in that hot bed of international politics, Luxembourg.

I wonder how they will all feel when their time is up and history shows that Brexit happened on their watch.
