Just stick 'em in a Waitrose bag - that way they get to save 5p on a carrier as well

Is it over yet? Is it safe to take my fingers out of my ears and open my eyes?

If you do you'll be just in time to see the ghost of Jacob Marley....

No he won't. He's having a bowl of gruel with me at the moment.

Well that's just about the 'festivities' done and dusted for us. We did what we 'had' to do yesterday, and had a lovely meal out with close family as they are going away for a week or so.

All went well, fabulous meal (Salmon Wellington and a Choccy Terrine etc), and best of all - granddaughter was absolutely delighted with the gift we gave her (but she has more surprises to open on Friday).

Friday for us is going to be simplicity itself - hopefully (weather permitting) a festive picnic and a trip out and about with my new camera etc.

So it just remains for me to wish everyone on this forum a happy ending to 2015, hopefully a time to remember and celebrate what we've all done this year, and the very best wishes for a year of contentment and happiness for 2016.

Okay bring it on. Ready now. :D

On the music front, if you've not heard her yet seek out Harriet - a relatively new UK artist. I heard her on R2 with a version of Last Christmas, and she has a Christmas album out for download. She sounds a lot like Karen Carpenter. You can find her on Facebook or her website by searching for Harrietsmusic and she's on R2 on Christmas Day with Paul O'Grady. I think she's great.

Have just sung the last concert... all that is left is to do the coffees for the biddies and hangers on after the Christmas eve morning service - and set up the church for the afternoon crib service

the latter takes an hour or so - involving lots of chair shifting. I had it timetabled for tomorrow morning since there was nowt in the church diary from then on.... BUT a funeral has now been booked for Weds pm - so that put the tin hat on that arrangement. I shall have to go before the morning service on Thurs and do it then -that service is in a different part o the church, so feasible. and OH will have a somewhat longer job list than usual to do while I'm out

Well Christmas has really started as far as this household is concerned. I'm feeling very virtuous. John and I took our Grandaughter to see "Cinderella" this afternoon and then came home and I have the piece of gammon cooking away - am trying Nigella's Ham in Coke recipe as I've had good reports of this - it will probably horrify some people. Then I've done two arrangements of Holly (we have loads of berries on our tree this year) with white lilies plus some gold bits and pieces that I've had for years. Now I still have to put presents under the tree but don't want to do that until it's had another top up of water - don't the trees drink a lot! John is out with the Rotary sleigh collecting at a supermarket and is then off out with the scouts who borrow the sleigh and tour local streets. So we'll be eating late! My feet ache so it must nearly be Christmas!
