I'm not surprised. He has had a wonderful season and Udinese must be rubbing their hands with glee at the thought of how much his transfer fee will have risen. Well done to the lad!! I thought Zaha might have got it.

Now for something much more interesting....
Last Thursday 21st March Braintree played Nuneaton in the Football Conference the score 2-2...so what's interesting about that you say.....Well, the scorers for Braintree were Daniel Sparkes and Sean Marks..........That's right...Marks and Sparkes.......Funny that ain't it

Re: Football
A tale of two halves for England in Montenegro. At half time they seemed to be in full control and cruising. The second half was littered with missed passes, giving the ball away cheaply and some sloppy, casual defending. I suppose we have to be happy with a point from a difficult away game.

Re: Football
A bit like When Harry met Sally, I want whatever the Montenegro coach gave his players at half time. From pathetic losers they were transformed into World beaters (well perhaps only England beaters) in the second half.oldbluefox wrote:A tale of two halves for England in Montenegro. Perhaps the Montenegro lot were threatened at half time with 5 minutes after the match with Igor, the guy on the tannoy. Did you hear him? Wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley!!

I wonder what Roy said at half time that had such a profound effect?

PTE 'It wouldn't surprise me if we went unbeaten for the rest of the season'
I said that back in January. At the time we were scoring goals for fun. Now we can't buy one............ Looking forward to playing the top teams but if we can't beat them either we don't deserve to go up.
I was pleased with the fighting spirit last night but being down to 10 men for virtually the whole game was always going to be a tall order.

Up the Shots!
Message for ALL other footie fans on this site who've been disappointed with results......
Fighting for promotion spot - mid table obscurity -
Sounds wonderful when you're facing the football league drop and recalling all those early season matches when we should have hung on for another 2 minutes for a win and an additional 2 points!!
Another long five hour journey ooop norf (Rochdale) yesterday to return with just one point. Looking on bright side - at least we played with spirit and we're off the bottom....on goal diff!!
8 matches left - everyone a "cup final"!!!

Re: Football
Jill, I wonder what your prawn sandwiches are like down there?
In an age where it is fashionable to wear the football shirts of the big 4 or 5, I always admire those children who wear their local teams' shirts with pride, even though their teams don't have a cat in hell's chance of winning anything. It's so easy for kids (and adults) to jump on the gravy train of success but it's real dedication to follow unfashionable teams especially from the lower leagues where the real grass roots of football as we know it still exist.
