Car production has been hit because most people don't buy their cars online like groceries but one day soon they will and when they do they will buy Japanese if the EU don't play ball with the UK at the eleventh hour.

I have some statistics somewhere ....

Germany would be hard hit unless we get a deal.............
"In 2016, Britain was the largest single export market for German manufacturers, who sold 800,000 new cars there, or 20 percent of their overall global exports. Fewer cars are exported to China and U.S. because German carmakers have factories there".

Guys, as I said a few months ago, a lot of this is semantics. We can't personally affect it except through the ballot box, and we've all had our shot (s) at that. We will know the details once the show is over, meanwhile we can just sit it out as observers and hope ( Hope like mad) that somewhere in all the rhetoric there will be some common sense on both sides.

Keep smiling, we in Poole can go and watch Aurora in Poole Bay, and hope we will get aboard her again one day.

It was reported, albeit in the Daily Wail, this morning that secret talks are to take place during the next couple of weeks in an attempt to thrash out the remaining sticking points but it also added that progress has been made regarding compromise on both sides

I am not really surprised there is so much mental illness. There is so much doom and gloom about. Bad enough coping with coronavirus we have numerous 'experts' coming along with their own remedies on lockdown, track & trace, testing, lockdown etc, all of which contradict what other so called 'experts' say. Then we have the anti government and anti Brexit brigade throwing their hat into the ring so it all becomes rather depressing. Much is stirred up by the media who revel in bad news to the extent we often switch off.
Now we have students who have been locked down for a couple of weeks to get the virus under control followed by vultures lawyers looking to make a quick buck from the situation claiming false imprisonment if they are not allowed out to spread the virus even further.
Some people need to get a grip!!

Sneaked in under the radar yesterday.
The U.K. Internal Market Bill had it’s third reading in the HoC yesterday and was voted in by a majority of 84.
Not a single Tory who spoke for so long against it two weeks ago voted against it.
I think it’s a good insurance policy and has certainly focussed the EU’s mind to let them know that they cannot have continued influence in the U.K..

Nice compromise from the U.K. regarding the future of fishing in U.K. waters has been offered.
A three year transition period to allow Eu fleets to get used to the changes in catch quotas.
Yet another reasonable concession from our side.
I think that Macron has now conceded that the status quo cannot continue for ever with a non Eu state.
Another barrier broken down.

Can’t get my head round that David?
The Eu have a no tariff agreement with Japan.
If the U.K. negotiates a no tariff agreement with the Eu but includes car parts from Japan in U.K. made cars, the parts attract tariffs ?
Go figure ?
I expect it will be sorted out by the end.

Clearly trade negotiations should not be left to silly politicians to decide, we need someone with more than half a brain.

Reading european news, it seems that most Eu countries are imploring the Eu negotiation team to be a little bit more realistic.
The majority have accepted that a trade deal with the U.K. is absolutely essential.
The EU Parliament spokespeople have said that they will not ratify unless the Internal Market Bill is dropped.
That should be interesting.
I think we all really know that the Eu Parliament just talk a lot and then do as they are told.

Love him or loath him I’m glad it’s Gove who is holding our Brexit aspirations together…he along with Frost seem to have laid their knives and forks on the table, it's now up to the EU as to whether they come to dinner or not...my guess is that they’ll all be rubbing elbows in a few weeks time…deal done!
