You could both be paranoid - you are, afterall, almost related - HK and DK (same initial - by heck that's got me wondering!); Hmmmm yes - Mrs & Mrs K!!!

Boots and kippers - no I haven't lost the plot!

Bozza, I don't think you've ever had a firm enough grip on the plot to have lost it.

Well, if it isn't paranoia, it means they really are out to get you!

What really amazes me about The Monocled Mutineer is this. Many members of the now sadly defunct P&O Cruise Community, some on here and some on Facebook have said that they have met him in real life and stated that he is a lovely chap and the life and soul of the party. Why then, when Derek was being particularly unpleasant on the Forum, did none of these people log on and say "Hey Derek, you are being an absolute kn*b, stop messing about, remember you're a nice guy"?!

I think MM posted for effect and to get the attention he craved, in real life, I suspect he is much more circumspect when faced with the people he routinely abused and denegrated
I doubt he would be brave enough to abuse people face to face like he did whilst hiding behind a keyboard

I don't know TMM, but I don't think he hid behind his keyboard. I don't endorse calling people the great unwashed or swine, but he knew that saying things like that would wind people up - and they fell for it every time - but it was clear that he held sincere beliefs and principles, and he responded genuinely to things he had read on the threads. I think he would take people to task even if they were stood in front of him if their comments didn't sit easy with him.

I am becoming a little uneasy that we are now starting to move away from the original post which was to ask about TMM's whereabouts to discussing his merits and virtues. I felt comfortable that the discussion was largely in favour of him with some light banter thrown in for good measure. However as the debate has developed I also realise there were many people who were far less enamoured and since it is unacceptable to be discussing those who are unable to fend for themselves it denies his 'detractors' a voice and the debate becomes one-sided. As a reminder John's original post was:

Does he post on here at all?

I miss his views and discussions with him.

He is certainly a Ram not a Sheep.

Dear OBF,

Like most threads I agree that this one has gone off track a little. However most of it is good humoured, so why the discomfort? Surely a little bit of banter between members is preferable to an empty sterile forum as was the case on here last evening.

Thank you for your kinds words sir.

I would point out, though, that I only read it because SWMBO buys it! At least it's not The Sun...

I was joking around with a customer a few years ago and was going to say "Just because you're paranoid, it doesn't mean they aren't out to get you" but I had a check in my spirit and didn't.

Good job - it turns out she actually was paranoid :o
