''Rumour around this part is that Rooney is totally disenchanted with football, and is joining
Colleen's business as a male model.''

Bleeding Heck

Wrigley's chewing gum shares have plummeted to an all time low

. . . and the great man is shortlisted for a Lordship, now that is surely a bridge to far

Methinks the Premiership will now be very competitive

Could Hull be next seasons top dogs

I think I said it was announced on the Radio!

I am listening to Steve Wright in the afternoon on the Radio, and they interrupted the programme to announce it.

As some people don't like the Mail, I thought I would post what the Guardian has to say.

"Everton have confirmed that David Moyes will leave the club at the end of the season after 11 years as manager, with the Scot expected to be announced as Sir Alex Ferguson's successor at Manchester United.

Moyes currently earns £4m a-year at Everton, making him better paid than any of his players and he can expect to receive a sizeable increase in these terms at United.

United prematurely welcomed Moyes as their new manager on their Facebook site and then took the link down again.

Moyes went through the formalities of his departure at the club's Finch Farm training base on Thursday morning, having returned from Merseyside after watching Chelsea draw 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday at Stamford Bridge.

Everton confirmed Moyes had told the chairman Bill Kenwright of his desire to succeed Ferguson at United when he retires at the end of the season and that he would not be extending his contract with the Goodison Park club. "The chairman, on behalf of the club, would like to place on record his thanks to David for the massive contribution he has made to Everton since his arrival in March 2002," the club said. "He has been an outstanding manager."

The statement then paid tribute to Moyes, who will remain in post for the rest of the season, before confirming the search for a successor would start now."

Didn't see that coming did we.

Six year contract....wow......United will have a new player join them on 1st July as well, a player they signed from a Championship Club for £15m...A player Sir Alex signed to replace a certain Mr Giggs, in time.

David and Wilf join United on the same day....Good luck to both of them.

6 years @ £5 million per year, £30 million contract, yep....wow.

A pay rise of a £1 million per annum, on his salary at Everton.

Derek

He's worth every penny and given United's turnover and what the are reported to be paying their players....it seems fair to me.

I hope the Everton fans are not going to turn against Mr Moyes....after all he is joining arguably the second best club in the country.

Perhaps Moyes is the only one who understands Fergie, so he can act as translator at meetings :P

Sir Alex Ferguson - Hated. Adored. But Never Ignored. His persistence, dedication, hard work and a desire to succeed and achieve what he has achieved speaks for itself, and I'd bet that any of his detractors would have loved him to manage their team.

In honour of Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement, all Premiership matches will play an extra 5 minutes injury time this weekend.

Sir Alex Ferguson is indeed a leg end...he will be sorely missed by everyone who loves the beautiful game...I doubt his achievements will ever be repeated.

Apparently on 14th February Alex Ferguson received a red card in the tunnel from referee Howard Webb.....It said 'Happy Valentines day' on the front.

Mo  When your world ends on 19th and Sir Alex bows out, make sure that you are standing next to Fergie.....He gets ten minutes longer than everyone else.
