They are slowly getting eBay sorted. You can now re-list items, albeit by a fairly circuitous route but sold items are going into the unsold item folder with no option to send invoices. I only sell low value items but I can see that anyone running a business on the site will be going bananas

Sounds like it goes a bit further than "over-running maintenance" to me

Oh dear that doesn't sound good, my SIL runs part of her business on eBay and on average sells between 50 - 80 items a day, I wonder how it will affect items sold, hopefully eBay will be able to supply the info needed to sellers, I don't really understand how it works but there must be some sort of back up for something like this happening.

The sold items info has filtered through during the course of the afternoon and, whilst it is not fully back to normal, all the processes seem to be working so I am sure there is no need to worry DQ

I was at work today so none of this affected me.

I'd have been peeved if I'd have been at home wanting to do listings

They usually do maintenance early Friday mornings and the site can be glitchy at that time, but they've outdone themselves today

eBay have at last acknowledged that there was a problem last week and have credited all fees for listings affected during the "outages".

This is the e-mail they have sent around:

"As you may know, on August 23 from 07:45 am to 02:00 pm British Summer Time, several eBay sites and customer service platforms around the world experienced intermittent outages. These outages were a result of technical issues that occurred during scheduled maintenance.

With the core technical issues resolved, we are now working to build additional safeguards into the maintenance process to prevent this from happening again. We'd like to assure you that at no point during this incident were any personal information at risk.

As a seller impacted by these outages, we're writing to tell you about the actions we're taking:

• We will credit all associated fees for listings that were scheduled to end on August 23 between 07:45 am to 02:00 pm British Summer Time.

• We will remove any negative feedback for communication or ship time on transactions that happened during this same timeframe.

The credits mentioned above will be applied to your account by the end of August and reflected on your next invoice.

We understand the impact that an outage of this scope can have on you, our valued sellers, and we sincerely apologize for this disruption. As always, thank you for selling on eBay.

Sincerely,

Your eBay Team"
