I'm all up for a common European language, currency, and time zone.

As long as it's English, Pounds Stirling, and Greenwich Mean Time!

Westclock eh, now they were the bees knees

We should perhaps get one of David's self correcting solar powered ones, albeit it shuts down at night
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

We often cruise with a friend who has a fairly expensive watch that changes time according to a time signal it receives.

He only wore it on the first cruise; with ships clocks and all that, he was late, or early, for almost everything.

I have a bedside alarm clock powered by 2 x AA batteries, but after I dropped it, and one of the batteries fell out - yet the clock continued to function normally, it has only had one in it for at least the past 3 years now: - and quite possibly the same one! I can't honestly remember the last time it had to be changed - though admittedly the battery is a Duracell.

So is Pounds Stirling the Scottish currency Alex Salmond planned to use if he'd won?

You'll have to ask him that: - but I doubt if you'll get a straight answer though!

That's why you should start your week on a Wednesday. You work three days, you get two days off, then it's only another couple of days before the end of the week :sarcasm:

CET! But I agree with you.

Why doesn't the world and his dog just move the clocks forward (if done at this time of year) or back (if done later) by 30 minutes and LEAVE IT AT THAT. No more changes ever. Nowt wrong wi' a bit of compromise... :sarcasm:

I'd ban data distributing companies - their lists are only used by businesses who send copious amounts of unsolicited, irrelevant, inappropriate and sometimes illegal marketing emails.

I had one of them from Ambulance chasers R us suggesting I used them to claim compensation for all sorts of unspecified mishaps.

I replied by enquiring if I could get compensation for eye-strain suffered as a result of reading too many spam emails.

The training manual for politicians that states ' you must start every response with "look"' . Also the Caledonian edition that says 'it's a vote winner if you thrust your head repeatedly towards the camera in an aggressive manner'.

Not forgetting the "Well, of course" routine used to try and save face when the opponent has just trashed your earlier statement :sarcasm:
