Yes what happened to our summer - I don't think I have worn any of my summer clothes this year!
Wore mine for a walk around Shetland a week or two ago.

Just saying!

I'm ready to go on one as well but 18 weeks to go yet for us. Apart from a short 4 day mini cruise in May it's been all hustle and bustle and lots of worry this year so need the break.

It was roasting hot up here in Costa del Cumbria today - shirt off and down to my string vest!!!

Actually I'm off to Leicester tomorrow to decorate my mother's kitchen so no time to enjoy the sun which was really lovely. Today it was the Keswick Show so they would have had a good day.
I won a canteen of cutlery in the boys' 100 yards at Keswick show in 1960, obf. Still got it somewhere, I think! I also started work at Barclays Bank in Keswick in 1961

I'll enter you for the Cumberland wrestling kaymar. How are you fixed?

Just got back from an overnight stay in Braithwaite which is just down the road but made a nice change and we had a lovely relaxing ride around 'back o'Skiddaw' through Uldale and Caldbeck stopping off at Mae's Tearoom for coffee and millionaire's shortbread. Last night it was dinner in the Royal Oak - Cumberland sausage followed by a brandy snap basket filled with sorbet and fruits of the forest.

Hope you have a good cruise barney. Don't forget your little blue book!!!! Nudge! Nudge!

Thanks, obf - it will have to be the heavyweight division, though. I will make a start on embroidering a nice pair of red underpants to wear over my long johns. I always had a pretty handy cross-buttock in my younger days, you know 8-)

We are preparing for our winter breaks now, a week in France on to Spain back for 5 days in Norfolk with Cheryl's family then our first Christmas at home for 4 years. We have 3 weeks booked in Majorca in May but looking for something between Jan/Mar.

It seems a long while until our Christmas cruise on Oceana 2016 but it is amazing how quick these holidays spring up.
