His beef must be as tough as old boots, we like ours to be hung for 21 to 28 days, none of this still warm nonsenseDark Knight wrote:... you point to it, he kills it, he dresses it , you buy it, cook it snd eat it, sometime it is still warm when we get it home
how excelletn is that for a local butcher ...

Re: Horsemeat?
Just watching Sky News now - people who carry the meat from europe, reporting on the disgusting conditions that some of the meat and fish is in when they collect it. It gets worse

In light of current events, it seems that we should be emptying our freezers of all those "ready meals" we have saved up!
Personally, I don't eat "processed" food - so I have no fears!
Nevertheless, in the scheme of things, this is "big business" for the food manufacturers - I bet they are noticing a difference in their sales in thepast few days.

Oh dear,
The problem of horse burgers is now in Yorkshire and less than 20 miles from Huddersfield

I would just like to take this opportunity to distance myself from Romig and the dodgy slaughterhouse on the Lancashire / WEST Yorkshire border and point out that I am from EAST Yorkshire where we are all law abiding and eat wholesome meat products which have complete tracebility back to the kebab shop.Manoverboard wrote:Oh dear,

As a student in Huddersfield MANY years ago a few of us thought it would be clever to buy some delicacies from the local tripe shop. We only ever went the once!

My grandparents used to eat tripe, just the look of it meant that I knew I would never eat it.

Dear Keefy,
I can assure you that my Keefy Beefy ( formerly known as Nigella's Carbonnade a la flamande but renamed in Onelife's honour) is made with beef. Keefy Horsemeaty doesn't really scan does it.
The little guy with the flat cap, riding boots and dodgy Irish accent who I bought it off said it was beef anyway.
Neigh
