They are simply cowardly in the extreme targeting innocent people to create as much carnage as they can. I cannot believe how anybody can be attracted to such a brutal, callous and despicable organisation.
It's a sad day for France and for democracy throughout the world.
Apparently though, many extremists are radicalised in prison................................

So presumably they were sweet innocents wrongly convicted. Adds to my belief that anyone from abroad who commits a crime which warrants a prison sentence should be automatically deported. No ifs. No buts. No Human Rights Act. On the plane. Gone.

Silver Shiney - we have no intention of altering our plans. All we will do is take the Foreign Office advice about being sensible while there. A week today we'll be on our way - hopefully towards some sun!

Nice touch at The Proms last night with the Orchestra opening the proceedings with La Marseillaise. Lovely rousing tune anyway. Not sure they would do that for us though, more probably they would sell our aggressors a few weapons.

I am pro Britain being a member of the EU. That is not the same thing Merv. While there may be a significant number of pro Brexiteers on this forum the facts are that the Remainers were not far behind in the referendum, so I am not as out of step as some people on this forum might like to think. The EU does need a root and branch reform, but that does not make it the "evil bogeyman" which Brexiteers portrayed.

I now await the howls of scorn, etc which we Remainers have become used to on this forum. They will make no difference to my views.

But isn't that what Cameron was supposed to have negotiated on our behalf prior to the referendum? The UK's disquiet has been on the cards for a long time and we were criticised for it. The EU's failure to address issues of membership is what has lead to the Brexit result and they have only themselves to blame. Too late bleating when the horse has bolted.

I for one Frank respect your position, and have not attacked Remainers with scorn, despite being myself being accused of being a "Little Englander".

But the referendum is over, and second place is no place at all. We haven't had a government in years that secured as much as 52% of the vote, so the referendum is decisive. I do, however, believe that Theresa May will try to take all people's concerns into account as she progresses the outcome the public voted for.

I also echo Foxy's point that EU had its chance of root and branch reform. It gave CMD nothing to bargain with in the referendum campaign and had we voted to stay in reform would never have happened. Maybe now the Eurocrats realise that the options of reform or die are the only ones on the table. The status quo has gone.
