Well done David, what ever you have done has worked. The pages are simply flying to the screen.
Memo for future, don't use P&O techs to help. 🤭

Yes Ray, that extra log seems to have warmed things up considerably…still no news on my promotion though  ;)

A lot better, but still some delays compared with before the switch.

As has been said, it's a free service and one I certainly wouldn't want to lose so I'm willing to be as patient as necessary. It's always well worth it when I eventually get there.

I think it’s more to do with fear Stephen…if I got to Captain/Administrator status I would get my own back on those who make a habit of deleting my posts, namely grumpy Moby and his boss David  :D

Hooray...........it's getting faster! About 22 seconds between topic changes/turning pages. Interesting to see how long this post will take.

And of course you are all right, it is a free forum and David is very kind to spend so much time on it. Thank you David

Just occurred to me - are you comparing the speed of posting on here with that of CC, because this will always be slower than CC due to the software of both boards using different technologies

Its actually been fairly stable over the last 2 days, and the lag is only a second or so, but not as instantaneous as the old server. However its still faster than CC, on chrome with my phone.

I haven't had any problems in months (since it was previously discussed). If you have tried clearing caches/cookies etc. then you could try reinstalling your browser.

It's not a device or browser problem Ken, the problem is intermittent and when its OK it runs normally, but just occasionally its slow to load pages.

All sites suffer from that - CC is particularly bad

I totally agree David, but CCs slow loading is consitent, your site runs perfectly for days, but then there is a short, mabe only a hour or so when it runs very slowly. Not that I want your's to be consistently slow, but it is the erratic nature of your problem that is the cause of confusion.

All good this morning.

When it was slow yesterday it was the same on both iPad and desktop PC both using Google Chrome. Other web sites operated fine.

There was something going on last night - I will need to look at the logs to see what it was (probably some form of attack - they happen all the time), but I have to go out this morning.

.

If it helps David I did get an episode yesterday where I couldn’t connect to the web site at all with a warning sign pop up saying something about a possible security certificate/connection issue, or words to that affect. So it could well be the system was trying to be attacked.
