Did not lose much this week, just 0.8lb, but happy as had grandsons 18th and two nights out with friends. Just 3lbs to go to reach goal weight and two weeks to do it in. No nights out planned either, so should do it

As the tagline "roses grow on you" was part of Cadbury's advertising campaign a few years ago, shouldn't that be "Roses grow in you" - and it's a bit insensitive to plant that one on us when we're trying to abstain from the lovely brown stuff

Hi Alan,

It you need any more evidence that “Roses” really do grow on you then let me introduce you to my sisters...

My feet are size 13 g fitting, but I have eaten loads of chocolate in my time.

Tiffin, Kit Kat, Hershey bars, Marathons, Yorkie Raisin n Biscuit (its not for girls), and now we have my greates temptation of all in the house, the dreaded McVities Plain Choc Digestives...... like giving an alcoholic a bedroom in a distillery!

I had managed to get 1.8lbs off so far this week. I predict that all will be lost again tomorrow.

I've done the Egg and Grapefruit diet in the past and it works really well, for convenience if you are not aware Sainsburys sell tinned Grapefruit segments in natural juices and they are quite cheap.

Hope there aren't any nasty side effects from this diet.

Strangely enough no nasty side effects Maureen   or at least I never had any.

They do recommend that you don't do it for more than 2 weeks at a time though.

I'm told that you shouldn't eat more than three eggs (or at least the yolks) a week.....

Hi Maureen,

I do recall one of my sisters calling me a "fat pig" but l think this had somthing to do with me always pinching her bike before she could get home from school....fifty years on she still reminds me of what a little sod l was

I'm delighted to say there's no resemblance whatsoever between our brood and that of the four ugly sisters :D

woo-hoo... down to 12st 3lb 2 oz, and I've lost an inch.

I found the the notebook from the office's now-defunct "Fat Club", and this is the lightest I've been since 2007!

I think you are probably right which is why on this particular diet it isn't recommended that you do it for more than two weeks, I used to do it every other week and in between just eat sensibly.

It's certainly good though for giving you that 'quick start'

Well done Alan on your weight loss. Good job I can't find any records from 2007 because I probably weighed 12 stone plus then as well. It took me a few years to realise just how much I had put on and it was a slow job getting down to ten and half stone - that is why I am still a bit fanatical about jumping on the scales almost every day because I don't want to lose control again.

I'm sure those photos of Keith's 'family' will encourage you to carry on with your weight loss.

Down one and half pounds this week which isn't too bad but we have a 60th birthday party to attend today so will have to be a little bit sensible.
Hope everyone else has a satisfying weigh-in.

Maureen.
