Our roads are too narrow for those big boys but I dare say the jungle drums will soon be telling of ' strangers ' ereabouts.barney wrote: 05 Jul 2020, 11:48Absolutely inundated with Caravans and Motor Homes yesterday.

Re: Current Affairs
Whilst I understand there are more tests being done it is worrying that the government are saying infection rates are coming down and yet when I take my area Shropshire the figures has gone up drastically in the past few weeks. When I started looking about a month ago, they stood around 840 cases and yet today they are showing 1,390 cases. In Dorset during the same period they were around 325 cases now they are 596…is someone telling porkies or are we underestimating how many cases there really are out there?

The problem with the number of "cases" figure is that it is cumulative and there does not seem to be, or at least I cannot find, the number of active cases.Onelife wrote: 05 Jul 2020, 12:21Whilst I understand there are more tests being done it is worrying that the government are saying infection rates are coming down and yet when I take my area Shropshire the figures has gone up drastically in the past few weeks. Also I think that there is a difference between "infection rate" which is the speed at which the infection is spreading and the number of positive tests - which to a large extent is dependant upon the number of tests being carried out.

Apparently they originally only quoted Pilar 1 tests, they now include Pilar 2 and the increase is due to the total of these being added in one go.Onelife wrote: 05 Jul 2020, 12:21Whilst I understand there are more tests being done it is worrying that the government are saying infection rates are coming down and yet when I take my area Shropshire the figures has gone up drastically in the past few weeks. Pillar 1 data for England is provided by the NHS and PHE, and data from the devolved administrations are provided by the Department of Health of Northern Ireland, the Scottish Government, and Public Health Wales.
Public Health Wales provide combined pillar 1 and partial pillar 2 data where tests are processed in NHS Wales labs.
Pillar 2 data for the UK (excluding Wales tests processed in NHS labs in Wales) is collected by commercial partners.
Pillar 3 data is provided for England by NHS England and Improvement (NHSEI).
Pillar 4 data is collected by the NHS, PHE, and individual research study leads for the UK
...................
No wonder there is confusion as to what and how data is collected
