That is where I fundamentally disagree. The colour, sexuality etc of victim and perpetrator should be irrelevant. A murder is a murder. An assault is an assault. I don't think it's that at all. White person attacks black person = hate crime. Black person attacks white person doesn't. Transgender child killed = hate crime. Non-transgender child killed doesn't. It's cobblers. All crime is crime. All victims are victims.
A white person attacking a black person could be classified as a hate crime in the same way that a man who beats up his wife for infidelity could be considered to be a crime of passion. Such classifications could be useful for the judge when it comes to passing a sentence on the guilty party.

When it comes to 'woke' they don't come much woke than the university of East anglia.
A story in the press a week ago of two incidents at the UEA Sports park swimming pool left a woman shocked. A short piece from the EEN paper.
The woman, who did not wish to be named, said on two consecutive weeks she saw an individual with exposed male genitalia in the female facilities.
But she claims when she highlighted her concerns she was told by staff that it would be discriminatory to query the person.
Using the transgender card to do that is not acceptable so long as the trany still has his tackle. It seems 'normal' people always seem to have to yeild to the needs of these type of people. It's coming like, to be normals not normal any more. 2
Stephen has been told not to visit the pool again.

That's not entirely true Ray and another case of misleading the public with incorrect facts.

Re: Current Affairs 2023
Forgive me for butting in Sir Merv but I don’t think Mob is suggesting that the letter of the law shouldn’t be followed irrespective of a person’s colour, sexual orientation, etc ... what he is alluding to is that the judge’s decision in passing sentence will be determined by the circumstances which led to the crime. Such things as provocation, infidelity, and other mitigating circumstance will be taken into consideration when passing sentence.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 16 Feb 2023, 14:20That is where I fundamentally disagree. I can’t see anywhere in Mob’s post where he is suggesting… “To even consider that a white man should get a greater sentence for attacking a black man than vice versa is discrimination”.
In uk courts we have a judge and a jury… the jury don’t or shouldn’t take circumstances of the crime into consideration when reaching their verdict, that judgment lies in the hands of the judge, therefore the classifications which Mob put forward are in my opinion relevant in helping a judge make the right sentencing decisions.

Re: Current Affairs 2023
Sorry OL. I still disagree strongly. The colour etc of the perpetrator/victim should have no bearing on either the verdict or the sentence. In the present case it is irrelevant whether the murdered girl is transgender or not. I'm not even sure why the media feel the need to mention it in every report. She was a human being who has been murdered. That is all that matters.
I should add it is not Moby I am criticising. It's the concept of a "hate" crime that attempts to make some victims more worthy than others on the basis of colour/gender/sexuality etc alone.
I fully accept his domestic violence example. That has nothing to do with the race etc of the parties. It is about a possible motive based on provocation and behaviour of the injured party. Different entirely.

So the students union in Cambridge held a ballot over should animal products be banned on the University menu's, 70% supported the motion. This would mean meat eaters would have to miss out on what they like. Is this not discrimination just to satisfy this modern fad to eat grass etc.
I like to eat meat and get really pi**ed off when I read of ballots which lead to telling others what they can and can not eat just to satisfy these little pr*cks.

You get my vote Ray
If the grass munchers don't want to eat meat then fine but don't stop everyone else.

Set up a free roast pig stand on campus with crackling, stuffing and apple sauce then see what percentage of grass munchers there are
