I hope you do decide to keep the site going. We were lunching out today and we got chatting with a couple on the next table who were "cruisers" and I recommended your site to them.

Please do not "pull the plug", David. I can understand your frustration, but please keep it going (the site, not your frustration!)

I have only just logged in so have no idea what has happened to make you say 'pull the plug' David. I really hope this won't happen.

No idea what has happened to make you think of "pulling the plug". I just hope you don't.

Re: The Way Forward
I read this thread a day or 2 ago and have been pondering (very busy).
Now I see Uncle 63's threatening to pull the plug!!!!!!!!
Why? Or has some stuff been removed. There's nothing on this thread to make the plug need pulling - we're all different and have different needs and ways of getting on with one another.
Please stay.
the number of posts will fluctuate according to people's needs -I'm between cruising years, so don't need too much info at the mo, but happy to help where necessary

Meg 50 , some posts were pulled as it was getting a bit silly, and best they were put in the bin.

Fair enough. I hope the now deleted ramblings of a few random nutters won't make that amount of difference

I am the same as most people. I look in everyday and read most posts . Much better than the old P&o forum. So please keep it open.
Many thanks for all your hard work.

If anyone is in any doubt why this forum should continue they should look at the..two cabins. How many keys..thread. A first time poster asking a specific question ..given positive and what looks to me accurate answers.
That's what this forum is all about and why it should continue:thumbup:

Carry on David, we will support you. I do not always post, but do try and log in most days and as a moderator I look after my section, which of course is not contentious and I leave the other areas to you guys as you are doing such a good job
Of course I am here to add my opinion if you need it.
I am certainly not aware of any clique, in fact this site is the best I have known (in my limited experience), everyone is always willing to help and give advice - case in point - I should have the best lawn ever!
You will always get those who will not confirm to the rules, it is the same in non forum land, but we should not let the minority spoil it for the majority.
Great job.. Great forum and great members

I can quite understand your anger but the cause was no more than the bigoted ramblings of one person (now thankfully banned). Please dwell on the messages of love from every other poster on this thread !!david63 wrote:I have been out this afternoon so I have only just caught up with what has been going on and my initial reaction was to "pull the plug" right here and now.
I will sleep on it.

I too have only just caught up with what's happened. In my opinion this is the friendliest, most good humoured cruise site around and certainly do not think it at all cliquey. If I had logged on this morning and found it had been discontinued it would have spoiled my day - my whole month etc. If you can stand doing it David there are many of us so thankful you started this site and it would be a real hole in our cruising life if you discontinued it. Please don't let one silly person spoil what you have achieved - don't know why they posted as they did, maybe to get a reaction. Please let them see they haven't affected this site one iota.

Re: The Way Forward
I would be very sorry to see the site go. Having looked at other sites this is the one which tops the rest for its members, its layout and its banter. There are those who, in the past it seems, come onto the site to annoy and irritate which is something we can do without. However I do feel we are creating a forum of different-minded people from many walks of life varying opinions.
Personally I would like to see more members posting their queries, cruise-related or not since I have found it really useful in the past to find out what other people think and to share my own experiences. For those who worry about posting please don't because the more people post the better we all get to know you. The more the merrier.
I can understand David's concerns but I think the loss of CC would leave a big gap. I suppose it's up to us now to demonstrate its worth.

Please don't pull the plug David - for every 1 person who rocks the boat there are 99 others who are rowing like mad to share their experiences with the community - and you are the man at the helm that built the boat & steers us all in the right direction! Sorry for the dreadful puns but we would all be castaway without you & this site!!

Nice to see you posting again and hope you've had a great cruise.
You may have noticed I’m trying to post more frequently of late as like you I would hate to see the loss of this smashing Cruise forum.
Do you think my efforts are worthy of a fast track promotion from senior officer to First Officer?
Thanks in anticipation.
