Probably the best headline of the day:

Quite right too! Should be a capital offence that one.
On a different topic isn't it funny that Jezzer Corbyn makes a video sitting on the floor of a train complaining there are no seats with the aim of publicising his policy of renationalising the railways then, when Virgin publish video footage showing empty seats and even Jezzer sitting down in one of them, he gets all sniffy when the media ask him about it and wants to change the subject.
Never mind politics and which party you support, or whether you are for or against nationalisation, Jezzer is a liability. Though, come to think of it, perhaps not to the Tories whose continued time in power he is assuring.

and now we have Smiffie saying that, if he's elected leader in place of Catweazle, he'll go against the electorate and stop Brexit.

Don't know, but if it's far enough away.........
They have a choice of hard left and quite hard left. They simply don't get that their only election hope is centre left. Anyway if Mrs May gets on with it we'll be out before the next election.

What amused me was when his PA ( or whoever she was ) said those seats were probably occupied by children, she didn't bat an eyelid as she blatantly liedMervyn and Trish wrote:Quite right too! Should be a capital offence that one.

Did he say how he is going to achieve this, from memory the Tories still have an overall majority?Silver_Shiney wrote:and now we have Smiffie saying that, if he's elected leader in place of Catweazle, he'll go against the electorate and stop Brexit.

He is, of course, also wanting another general election before we pull the plug on Europe. Now remind me did Prudence Brown have one when he took over from Blair in a similar situation to Theresa taking over from Cameron?

Taffy is just spouting off to attract votes in the leadership election from the Loony Left Brexit Deniers. Frankly, out of the two pillocks running, it matters not who wins as Labour will remain unelectable.

Yes, then it changed to he needed two seats together so he could sit with his wife. Wonder if she sat on the floor with him. He really should have booked and reserved seats shouldn't he, like sensible people do. I expect he's the last one onto Easy Jet having declined to pay £3.99 to reserve his seat and then whinging there aren't two left together!Dancing Queen wrote:What amused me was when his PA ( or whoever she was ) said those seats were probably occupied by children, she didn't bat an eyelid as she blatantly liedMervyn and Trish wrote:Quite right too! As an aside we live on the West Coast line, also served by Virgin. Unlike Jezzer apparently, I remember how bloody awful the service was under BR and how much better it is now. So do I want BR back? No thank you.

I can only think of one group who want to re-nationalise the railways, and they are the rail unions, but of course they are Jezzers paymasters so you can perhaps understand his dilemma.Mervyn and Trish wrote:As an aside we live on the West Coast line, also served by Virgin. Re: Current Affairs
I see today that Labour Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell has called for Virgin's founder and CEO Sir Richard Branson to be stripped of his knighthood. Claims Branson wants to undermine our democracy!
What, by proving the Jezzer was less than honest about his no seats claim? So who exactly is undermining democracy by attacking Branson's right to free speech in defence of his company?

How many jobs has RB created in this country compared to how many JC (et al) have created?

Quite so. All I think it shows is Jezzer seriously lacks judgment, and needs to fire his PR team and get a new one. What a week of own goals. And he wants to be PM?

Re: Current Affairs
Meanwhile, thousands still coming in illegally via Calais.
I know that this rarely makes the main stream media, but hardly a day goes by in Kent, when 'migrants' are not hauled from a foreign driven truck, somewhere in the County.
The rough estimate is about 10,000 last year, but that is only a best guess.
It's probably more.
The solution is quite clear. The French must close the Jungle.
How this can be tolerated in a first world country is beyond me.
The French should hang their heads in shame but instead of this, they say it's a British problem and that we should solve it.
I can think of a quick way but it does involve Napalm.

Perhaps when we catch them we should put them on a coach and deliver them directly to the French President's palace. Considering France has a population density about half of the UK they could much more easily accommodate the extra people. To say nothing of the EU law which requires asylum seekers to seek refuge in the first save country they come to. But then France has never been hot on abiding by EU laws.barney wrote:Meanwhile, thousands still coming in illegally via Calais.

Interesting that you say that Merv, because there is a train of thought in the coastal towns, that should the Jungle be closed and the French let them board the Shuttle, Eurostar & Ferries, the good citizens of the UK will transport them to Hyde Park, free of charge.Mervyn and Trish wrote:Perhaps when we catch them we should put them on a coach and deliver them directly to the French President's palace. Maybe even drop a few off in Leicester Square and Downing street.
They can pitch their tents there.
Then we will see what the Metropolitan Elite really think about the situation.
