I think we all agree it is a right and fair increase but the problem was that some tit previously pledged that there would be no increases in this parliament !

Are you sure it was the weather and not some of your bunnies that have emigrated.

Great shame, it seams they have all been too busy sticking their fingers in the leaky EU dyke.

Gosh Jack. Your wit is way beyond mr. Why should the Dutch election be of the remotest interest to anyone here?

And that worries me how? I'm interested in the future of the UK and how we implement Brexit. Not really bothered whether the Dutch want to stay or go.

There were clearly other factors at work here, such as Mr Rutte's measured response to the wild accusations made by Erdogan

The Dutch rejected Wilders and his ultra-extremist policies, they haven't necessarily rejected their right (duty?) to reclaim the sovereignty.

Mr Toyota clearly agrees with you, Jack, with his decision to invest £240m here... leaving the corrupt EU is, imho, the way to put the "Great" back into this country's name. Don't bother to post your disagreement - it's a given :)

"You might hear Brexiteers trumpeting about a £240m investment from Toyota in their UK operations over the next day or two.

It's worth reminding them that £21.3 million of this is UK taxpayers money to train staff in how to use the new robotic equipment that the other £220m is being spent on because Toyota know that if they are going to continue to build cars in the UK post Brexit they will need to be more competitive.

More competitive means fewer jobs in the vast majority of circumstances.

Also worth noting that while the UK gets a £220m investment Toyota are investing £8,200 million in their manufacturing facilities in the USA for comparison.

In 2015, committed investment in the UK auto sector was £2.5 billion. Figures out in January 2017 show last year investment was down by £900 million to £1.6bn.

Ain't it great news? Brexit is doing wonders and we haven't even left yet!"

I don't suppose the larger investment in America has anything to do with that country's larger population and, consequently larger potential customer base?

No-one in the exit camp has said life will be easy but I for one am increasingly fed up with undemocratic minority saying we're finished when, in reality, no-one knows how it's going to play out. Why not try giving it a chance, Jack?

The population of the U.S. is about seven times the U.K.
£240M X 7 = £1,680M compared to £8,200M, so not population size then.

Life is not easy once you have shot yourself in the foot. I am increasingly fed up with some who say democracy only happens on the one day of their choice.

No "if" Jack. We are implementing Brexit. It's called democracy. If you want to escape looks like you could move to Holland.

If it was democracy, that would not be certain. Guess what, because we do still live in a democracy, Brexit is still very much an uncertainty, even IF it is triggered (wasn't that supposed to be today? oh, no it was supposed to be 24th June).
I will no longer have the right to 'escape' to Holland or anywhere else because of your vote, it's because of you I will not be able to. So you will have to put up with me, along with all the others who will not put up with your 'views'.

Well here's a fact. I have two friends who emigrated to the US and that's not in the EU. So if Holland won't have you after we've left you could try there.
