The price of retaliation does seem disproportionate but if I was the father of one of the 1200 young innocent men, women and children that were butchered on Oct 7th then I would be in support of the actions in trying to eradicate those who carried out these heinous crimes.

The blame lies with Hamas who have/are using their own civilians as weapons of war. imo

At this stage I believe the blame is shared by two vicious callous brutal administrations. imo.

Of which one is generally worse than the other…but with both having tragic outcomes

I wholeheartedly agree with Shabana Mahmood decision to give more power to police in administering restrictions as to what protesters can and cannot do on our streets…they have become a bloody nuisance and a drain on police resources.

But surely giving the police more powers will only become a bigger drain on their resources?

Better option is to make the protesters police their own protest - make them put up a £50k deposit and if there is no trouble they get it back - any trouble and it goes to police funds. No deposit equals no protest so just round them all up and dump them somewhere remote.

I don't see the point in writing support for Palestine Action on a piece of cardboard only to get arrested and no doubt fined. Are they protesting against the situation in Gaza or is it a protest against Palestine Action being proscribed?
Would it not be more beneficial to wave a Palestinian flag if they must, avoid arrest and donate the money otherwise paid in a fine to a charity involved in Gaza such as Medecins sand Frontieres, Red Cross, Action Aid, Save the Children etc. Seems logical so there must be a catch somewhere.

Where did they put the 500 people they supposedly arrested for processing.

Personally I thought they were all rather pathetic. I doubt the German police would have been so gentle, not from what I have seen when they make arrests. 80 and 90 year old and passive resistance? Get a life!!! Your arrests will make no difference whatsoever to the situation in Gaza.

At least there is one Conservative politician willing to tell the truth...

I agree entirely with him. It's about time politicians faced up to the truth about immigration and integration. Mistakes have been made in cities like Leicester which now bear more resemblance to little India/Pakistan and gradually the whole culture of the city has changed.

Because the main parties are in denial about the impact of mass immigration and multiculturalism over integration is the entire reason for the rise of Farage and the far right.

I have been saying this for years, all the old mill towns have developed Ghettos and some of them now have totally Asian occupants. Little wonder that places like Bradford have developed their own Asian accented dialect.

Why is Trump being lauded for bringing peace to Gaza. Surely the only reason this initiative has succeeded is due entirely to Netanyahu's massive bombardment of Gaza City. Not that his evil actions should ever be considered for the Nobel peace prize.
Hamas have eventually been worn down by the IDF and were on the brink of defeat, so it only needed a little push to bring them to any peace agreement. No wonder Trump waited until total defeat of Hamas was the only alternative for them.

We haven't had peace in the Middle East for the last 50 or so years so I doubt it is going to happen any time soon

The point is that nobody will probably ever know if they have given up all the hostages because they claim that they don't know where all the bodies are buried - that is if they are buried at all. There is a possibility that some of the hostages that are believed to be dead may not be.

Also don't forget that the other side of this is that Israel will be releasing some (perhaps many) Hamas members who may be looking for a war!

Ironically it was peace maker Trump that set the scene for the Oct 7th raid. It was pretty much universally agreed internationally that Israel's settlements in the West Bank were illegal. But Trump rejected that in his first term. And that occupation is a huge driver for Hamas anger.

Does the media have to go around digging up stories and then trying to sensationalise them? The latest is that Tony Blair met Jeffrey Epstein in Downing Street in 2002 which was six years before Epstein was convicted of anything!

Epstein was a very wealthy and high profile individual so he would meet and no doubt entertain all manner of people. The fact he knew so many people does not necessarily implicate them, despite what the media would have you believe. It seems they will do anything for a story but trying to drag innocent characters into the Epstein sleaze scenario is pretty deplorable (and I'm no fan of Blair).
