My little granddaughter.

Unread post by Boris+ »

Just to say that we now have our first grandchild - a little girl.

She is named Amelia Jane, and after a bit of a fright and an epic start when things went all wrong we seem to be heading in the right direction now.

She is just out of intensive care and has progressed to high dependency, but still on a drip and very very sleepy.

So, no cuddles yet - but I have been telling her little teddy stories and taking photos (without flash).

Hope she gets better soon. Our eldest grandson was in SCBU when he was first born after a traumatic birth. Quite scary for all concerned.

We still 'only' get very brief visits to the special unit as only parents plus one visitor at a time allowed. Still not allowed to 'hold handies' - only staff and parents allowed.

We'll see what today brings. I've cheered myself up with (yes, I know it's childish) setting a new day counter on my mobile.

Next daft question - I've tried the photo gallery, but it says the file needs to be smaller - how do I do that?

Knickers in a knot this morning - bother and blast. I just can't get the hang of this granny lark.

open your piccie on your comp - I use paint, but other methods are available. one of the options is resize.

if you don't want to lose the full sized one, rename it when you save.
then it can be loaded to the gallery

Everything seems to be progressing, but she appears to be a very quiet baby and doesn't make much fuss at all (yet).

I think that hopefully drips etc will be out now. We got some photos yesterday and got them printed out at a shop - very quick and inexpensive, so it's photo frames a-go-go.

Think I'll embroider another pram blanket to keep busy.

I've managed (with a lot of very kind help) to get a photo uploaded, but I still don't know how to do it myself.

The help was much appreciated though.

Grandparenthood is a wondrous state. Our Chloe, aged two and a bit, is already training for her stand up comedy routine, which if she has her mum's/grandparent's/great grandmother's genes she will be performing in the passenger talent show sometime around 2030.

The other day she asked if she could get down from the table (not quite a sentence, more a short phrase ......... "get down?")

So, hoping for a "please", we asked her what the little word was.

After a moment she replied "mouse"!

Well done on putting a photo of Amelia Jane on the image gallery - she is gorgeous. It is actually the first time I have looked at the gallery and I hit the chat button first by mistake so hope I didn't do anything I shouldn't have done - I got off quickly because I had no idea what I was doing but eventually found the picture of Amelia. The embroidery is super as well.

I fear the joys (and worries) of grandchildren are not going to happen for us. :(

Huge thanks to everyone for nice messages and support.

Today things are improving and I've even been allowed a cuddle - which was wonderful.

Onwards and upwards!
