Easter Day

Unread post by david63 »

Since when has Easter Sunday become Easter Day?

We still have Good Friday - not Good Day
and Easter Monday - not Day after Easter Day.

Don't tell me - it's just another Americanism creeping in - won't be long before we have the Stars and Stripes flying over Buckingham Palace

The real surprise is that it hasn't been renamed Bunny Day to avoid offending non-Christians!

The Americans probably already do! We were watching an american show yesterday which was set at Christmas and they were discussing where they display their holiday cards, not Christmas cards.

David - you mentioned Good Day - isn't that what they say in Australia?

But yes, I think it is something to do with the American influence.

I hope on this Easter Sunday most of you are getting decent weather because it is absolutely foul on the Isle of Wight. At least we won't have to water the lawn turfs tonight - they will probably just float away.

Not too bad in Gateshead. Cloudy with sunny spells and about 11c.
