Dad's Army film

Unread post by anneed »

So they are planning to remake Dad's Army as a film with Toby Jones as Capt Mainwaring and Bill Nighy as Sgt Wilson. Who would you cast in the other roles?

Hope they give Ian Lavender a cameo - he could be the Stupid Boy's granddad.

Good grief, that's a difficult one to answer - and that difficulty comes from the fact that (for me) I think they did it so very well first time around.

I think you could cast the entire film from members of this forum, there are certainly enough comedians amongst them.

David, I'm sure there will be a musical. So many great wartime tunes to choose from. I'm very partial to a bit of Glenn Miller myself.

What a great idea. :D :D

David Jason would probably make a good L/Cpl Jones.

Well, well ladies and gentlemen.

Now who would have thought that our very own Dark Knight was the original ARP Warden Hodges, that Bill Pertwee based his character on.

I am a bit embarrassed to admit this DK, but Alex Salmond was a ‘Banker’ to trade.
