Huge apologies. Sometime ago a load of us were messing about on the P&O forum, and I think it may have been something to do with the annual forum panto. Anyway, as time goes on and I get less and less prickly and more and more mellow (must be the cruising effect) I decided I would get into the panto spirit and as I was once given a pair of very long thigh-length boots I could be a principal boy! As principal boys seem to do alot of striding about and thigh slapping it was decided that kippers were blasted wonderful for slapping things - hence 'boots and kippers'.

A well known and much-loved forum member sometimes used to make comments 'with a nod and a wink' - so I used to insert boots and kippers when being perhaps a bit cheeky.

So Mo - it's just a bit of fun really.
