Actually that wasn't my question, but perhaps I should have worded it differently. I am just gobsmacked that the US cannot administer a lethal injection effectively. I'm sure their vets do it every day!!
From memory, they have had to change the drugs used, as the previous drug manufacturers refused to continue supplying the US for use in state-endorsed killing.

I seem to be the only poster who disapproves of the whole ghastly business. And no, I don't like what he did any more than the rest of you.
No, you're not the only one Colwill. I agree that there is very little deterrent in a so called life sentence these days, but still, an eye for an eye is no way for a civilised society to carry on. Derek Bentley didn't pull the trigger on the policeman, and there was grave doubt that he intended to kill him when he said to Christopher Craig, "Give it to him". Many thought he meant hand over the gun. The jury recommended mercy, but the establishment were determined someone had to die so they hung him; a lad wth limited intelligence, easily led. That and Hanratty, and Ruth Ellis, was enough to put me off the death penalty for ever. One miscarriage of justice is one too many, and they do happen.

Why waste drugs and bullets when a rope can be re-used!
