Car keys!!
When I recently changed my car, the dealer handed me both sets of keys on the same key ring, I drove home, parked the car on drive, got out and locked it.
Then realised I had forgot to get something out of the boot, retrieved that and shut boot. The minute I shut it, I knew what I had done, yes you've guessed, had shut the keys (both sets) in the boot, all doors now locked.
Help needed, had breakdown cover on my car, but not home start, rang insurance company, changed my cover, was informed AA would be with me in the hour.
AA arrived, luckily as it turned out, I had left the drivers and passenger front windows open by approx 2 inches. AA Man warned me whatever he tried, it would set off the car alarm, which could last for about 20 minutes.
Using his magic piece of wire, he tried to open doors, through the window openings, this set off the car alarm, but no success. Managed to open the bonnet, removed fuses, did some cross wiring still no luck. Thankfully this stopped the alarm.
He then had the idea to try, using his piece of wire, through the front windows, to press down either of the buttons on the back seat which splits the seat in two, enabling him to pull down one side of the seat, giving access to the boot. No success driver side, but bingo he managed it from the passengers front window. By this time I would add it was dark, so I had to stand there shining a light through window in order for him to see what he was doing.
With I say his magic piece of wire, he moved some clothing I had in the boot, exposing thankfully my car keys on the car boot floor, he then hooked them out through the window.
Relief, first thing was to separate the keys and hang them on the hooks indoors, where I normally hang the keys. Would point out the car is not a small car, but a 2 litre Mondeo hatchback
Could not blame Lorraine as she does not drive, but does have her own set of house keys. If we loose them, no problem as both our children who live near by, have there own sets to let themselves in when they visit.
Mind you when something of mine goes missing indoors, it's always where did you leave it, or where did last have it, mind you hate to say this but she is nearly always right, but will not admit when she is not.
