Hi Jo,

I think I need to bow to your superior knowledge - silly question........ if I get this stick of celery, can I beat young men with it, and does it need to be dry, damp, strong or limp?

Answers on a postcard please!

Em
Haven't a clue Em  I don't really know any young men that I might want to beat with a stick of celery but each to their own

I would imagine it will be the same 'high quality' as Keefy's Chocs

Thinking outside the box. Celery goes nicely with cream cheese and I would have to substitute young for older but it has possibilities. !!!!!

Just weighed in - 11st 7lb on the nose. A loss of 1lb 2oz. That's the lightest I've been very many years.

I've never been a fan of either celery or cream cheese - I think I'd truly prefer a tomato - but there's not much fun to be had with an honest tomato.

Oh well, back to topic - still careful with what I'm eating - fingers crossed for a nice little weight loss this week to come.

Up a lb to 141 lbs so will just need a bit more exercise this week and less chocolate, a lot less chocolate

Finally going in the right direction...down 3lbs since I reported last.

I casually remarked to a group yesterday that we bake our own bread in the oven and how much nicer it is than shop bread. The reply was very true; "Trouble is, it makes you eat more of it!" So it will be rationed to two slices a day from now on. I want to break the 200lbs barrier by 25th June.

Well done Alan, Sue and Frank. I seem to be the only one going upwards. I need to get this hovering lark sorted.

Well done 'Losers'

I'm hovering again :o

Don't be dowhearted Maureen, I'm up and down 1-2lbs like a yo-yo, mid week I was 2lbs heavier than I was this morning, I've already reached the target I set myself but then set a further target of another 7lbs and those last couple of pounds are proving so hard to get off

I honestly don't know where I can cut back anymore unless I deny myself 'anything nice' and go teetotal  so onwards and upwards or should I say downwards, I'm sure we are all healthier for shedding a few pounds and I'm not going to beat myself up over a couple of pounds

I forgot to put my weight loss on this week. Lost one whole pound.

Did the oxford town and gown 10k in 66 minutes. Bit disappointed as I could have gone quicker but didn't pace myself properly. 4000 folk took part.
The Muscular Dystrophy campaign also organise runs in Cambridge and Durham.

Keep up the good work the sun is out waiting to bronze your toned bodies...

Well done on your weight loss and very well done on your 10k run - I would have just been grateful to have survived a 10k run, never mind about how many minutes it took to do it.

Shame on me. While I am definitely on the downward trend I had a bit of a shock today, having bought some Speedo swimming shorts, ( not the budgie type) they arrived and I tried them on. In my mind was the dark haired, handsome, 5 o'clock shadow with the rippling six pack who had modelled them on line.

In the mirror was the over 70 with salt and pepper hair, and horror of horrors a recognisable tyre bulging above the waist band.

"Ye Gods" I cried, "Dark Knights Revenge hath fallen upon me!"
Gruel and dry bread for the next six weeks!

Frank, Perhaps you bought the wrong trunks. Budgie smugglers would have meant no one noticed your waist line.

Good afternoon pinchers,

Just got back from a few days vacation in them yonder hills of Wales... hence the reason why l didnt make last Sundays weigh in. Shame really as l had got down to 11 stone 12lbs.....oh well, three bacon butty breakfasts, two barbecues, plus copious amounts of fluid intake have taken their toll. Looking like the pot bellied pig of old l am hoping l can shed a lb or two before tomorrow's weight in ....l could of course save the embarrassment and bugger off back to the van.

Irospective of tomorrow's weigh in l am not too disheartened as l still have 9 weeks to go before our cruise so l'm sure l will get to my target weight of 11-10 ...Oh yes l will.

Well done Alan, Sue, Frank and RB you've done brilliantly.... Like Jo, l've also been hovering....give or take a lb or 5.

Anyway must dash....channel 4 racing is about to start.

Stay stronger than me pinchers and remember.... " those of us with ample girth could be the butt of others mirth"

Regards

Keith

Won't be weighing in this week as I've been at my mum's since Tuesday and heading off to Hamburg on Monday. Won't be back home until Thursday.

I won't be weighing in either tomorrow as we are off to the Races and have quite an early start so I shan't have time to come online I will be too busy 'glamming' myself up

Have a great time in Hamburg Alan, one of my favourite cities.

Keefy .. hovering is ounces not 5lbs

Oh Alan,

You'll have to 'avert your gaze' at the 'antics' of some of the little model people on the layout!!! There used to be a religious official with a lady of the night at one point, and also several couples testing out vehicular suspension!!! I wonder if they've changed it? Let me know!

I saw a video of that, Em, but wasn't sure if it was the Miniatur Wunderland - it was certainly a bit graphic!! I also saw Michael Portillo paint a mini "him" and it was placed on a station platform, so will have to look out for that. I'm especially interested in the model of the airport.

I certainly have not been eating healthily whilst at my mum's, though I had a long walk round London on Monday and again on Wednesday. I've got a walking tour of Hamburg (avoiding the Reeperbahn) sorted for Monday afternoon so hopefully that will work off a few calories. I anticipate being at the model most, if not all, of the day on Tuesday so I'll be on my feet all day, except when I go to their very reasonably a priced restaurant, so hopefully will be able to nullify the effects of the beer (well, you can't go to Germany and not sample the local brew!). I'm looking forward to seeing the waterways there - they look beautiful.

Just need to get the weight down to 11 stone.

Alan - maybe you'll include the Michel church on your tour, and if you do, then you'll have a chance to visit the Krameramptstuben which is very interesting, too.

Have a great time.

Alan,

If you stand on the pavement at the end of the Michel church where the tower is and stand with your back to the building, just across the road is an archway inbetween the buildings, and that is the entrance to the Krameramptstuben.

Not sure of the times, but there is a lift inside the tower of the church and there is a stunning view from the top I'm told.
