Hot Tubs

Unread post by suespud »

Thinking of hiring one, as a surprise..for my OH on his birthday. :D
Only need a flat surface....3 metres square, a sink and a plug!!!
But the terms and conditions are putting me off...
NO BOMBING, NO JUMPING IN, NO GYMNASTICS, NO HEAVY PETTING AND NO ALCOHOL !!!!
Can't see the fun in it now..with all those rules  :o

A few years ago I wanted one of these new fangled contraptions - and then I chatted to a woman I knew who had one, and heard all the pitfalls and maintenance costs etc. Maybe hers had just gone wrong - made on a Monday never a funday sort of thing.

Go on - hiring one could be quite fun, so why not? You might even end up getting one for keeps.

As long as it's freshly cleaned and in excellent working order, go on - enjoy yourself.

We bad a permanent hot-tub in a gazebo in our last house. It was a novelty when we moved in and when friends came to stay we would sit in there with a couple of bottles of champagne, but we soon tired of it. It ate up the electricity, used an enormous amount of water - and the cost of the chemicals was astronomical. It also took AGES to heat up, so very soon we stopped using it altogether.

Perhaps for a special occasion it might be fun, but in all honesty I wouldn't recommend one.

Ohhhh I wouldn't dream of buying one, we don't have the space in our garden.

It was more just for a bit fun to hire for the weekend...but the champagne and the "fun" bits ;) were part of it...
They bring it in bits, set it up, fill it up, give me chemicals to put in it, then we use it and they come back and take it to bits and take it away!!!
Not bad for under £200 I think.

I guess for a weekend it would be fun. We just inherited ours when we bought the house. There were far too many spiders around our gazebo for my liking lol

Oooooo Stephen - when I see a spider I don't ask questions, I don't care what flippin colour it is, it's thwacking it on the head with a shoe or slipper time!

If it's very big (and no, I don't problem with words describing size or the lack thereof) - I call for husband, and he does the thwacking it on the head bit!

Bye the way - I don't care which part of the spider's anatomy is the target, as long as the result is an ex-spider.

I've hear that for around £1000 or less a week per person you can hire several hot tubs, with a swimming pool, theatre, a few bars and restaurants and even a sea view room thrown in!

Hi Gill,

I expect I've now been reported to the arachnid appreciation society for the prevention of cruelty to spiders! Oh dear.

She, What a wonderful idea. Too many rules can put you off but the no bombing and no jumping are easy to abide by,
Just concentrate on the alcohol , the gymnastics and heavy petting will sort of follow on.
I am presuming a grandchild free time.
