In 10 years time, most people will look at one of the paintings and say "who's Rolf Harris?"

If anyone has an original Rolf Harris and doesn't feel they can keep it then I will gladly PM you my details in order to send it to me. Give it 20 years and the notorieity will increase it's value. Sad, but true IMO.

According to an article in today's Times a couple of limited edition prints of his pictures expected to reach about £50 at auction last week both reached mid hundreds of £s!
Maybe being notorious helps artists???

There was one of the old singers doing an interview on the news today, cannot remember who, he still isn't sure whether the verdict was just swayed by the jury… yet more people are coming to light. He said that he has no problem with displaying his art. Not sure myself… if I had one I would probably wrap it up and store it somewhere.

I'm shocked and disappointed by the verdict, but the jury were there and they heard the evidence and I didn't, so they know a lot more about it than I do.

I don't possess a Rolf Harris picture so I don't have that dilemma. However I am on the Board of a Community Radio station and we won't be playing any Rolf records any time soon.

I would rather pay out for a Rolf Harris painting if I liked the painting, even though he has been found guilty, than spend £2.5 million on the Tracey Emin My bed so called 'art'. I would have happily made that mess for anybody for £200 never mind £2.5 million.

I also found the Rolf Harris verdict a shock but I am sure there are quite a few celebrities out there shaking in their boots now.

Digressing somewhat from the original topic - but there are some aspects of all of these trials that do sit comfortably with me. Bandwagon comes to mind and as soon as a guilty verdict is announced the next word seems to be compensation.

I find it difficult to understand that if somebody is being abused, why do they keep going back (as in Bindy's friend)? If I came across somebody or something I felt uncomfortable with I would not be returning either as a child or as a grown up and would give the situation a very wide berth. Am I missing something here?

As it has taken so long before so many of these accusations have been made about different celebrities the cynic in me tends to agree with David.

I would agree as well. It seems that Preston is a much better choice than Southwark if you want a not guilty verdict, makes one doubt the veracity of jury trials.

I don't know, but perhaps the perpetrator identifies his victims as being vulnerable, lacking the confidence to report the situation, and who by force of personality draws them in time and again.

I agree with David, why did the girl, Bindy, keep going back for more, and she wasn't the only one who admitted doing that.
The problem we all have with this sad case is that we all thought Harris was a "good bloke". It is so disappointing. It is easier to demonise someone like Saville, because he always was a bit creepy. Harris is 84 years old, I think this will kill him.

I'd have played the Pistorius card and got six weeks leave of court...........and legged it.

But going back to the RH trial, which has taken weeks. I'm sure leading up to the end of the trial the judge must of had a pretty good idea of what the outcome was going to be, so why not pass sentence on the day of judgement instead of at a later date.

Perhaps he's trying to see if the 'Tate' can put him up for a couple of years ;)

Two reasons:

- The judge may have thought that the verdict would go the other way.

- Because of his age and health the court need to have medical reports before he can be sentenced and I would guess that the medical reports cannot be done until he has been found guilty.

I would have though an experienced judge of many years on the bench would be prepared for both options. No wonder the wheels of the legal system run so slow. Have the trial take two weeks holiday and then spend several more weeks mulling over what sentence to hand out.........and if he's a 'lodge' member!

So if your over 70 with a bit of a cough and a dodgy hip you might get a suspended sentence, or lavish in one of her majesties newest establishments with a ground floor suite with room service next to the hospital block!

On a different note (pun intended), my under 18 singing students, about twelve of them - some as young as 8 - sang The Court of King Caractacus (written by RH) in a recent student concert. I ran it by all the parents beforehand, because we weren't sure whether the verdict would be given before the concert, and they all said why not - it's only a song. No-one squeaked about it.

My OH came home last night and we have discussed the painting.
My decided to leave it where it is.
We bought it because we thought it looked like hubby and me..........and we like Klimt...and the buying of it signified a very special time in our lives.
We noticed it was a signed RH....after going into the gallery.
But it could have been painted by anyone.
Whilst I abhor what RH has done, the painting will stay.
