Just thought I would tell this little story, we were in Windsor a couple of weeks ago for the races and there was a stray cat that seemed to have made the hotel grounds it's home ( we heard it's owner had died and the staff there had taken to feeding it ) along with many of the guests !!

It was in a bit of a sorry state and a couple that were in our party said it had what appeared to be a rat bite on it's side it also looked as if it might have some sort of tooth problem as it certainly appeared to have a problem eating on one side of it's mouth, I swear if there had been a way of getting the cat back to Chesterfield they would have brought it back with them when we left.

It may yet have had a happy ending because the husband of the couple was back in the South a few days later and he said he was going armed with a cat basket and if it was still there he would bring it home and look after it until he could find a good home for it.

I'm not sure if this could be considered 'cat-napping' but from what I saw it was probably the best chance the poor puss had.

Let's hope it has a happy ending DQ. Even if someone can't or doesn't want a cat, you only have to inform the Cats Protection or the RSPCA and they will take the cat in and get him treated, and all being well find him a loving home.

I'm sure people felt they were doing him a kindness by feeding him but it sounds like he needs some veterinary attention more than anything.

It always annoys me when people abandon or mistreat animals. There's no need for it. If you are struggling to look after an animal or don't want it anymore do the right thing and take it to one of the charities I mentioned rather than leaving it to fend for itself.

It amazes me how some people can be so callous with animals. The Cats Protection web site where we got Freddie showed a lovely black and white cat that was looking for a new home and a bit about his history. Apparently had just been left behind when his then owners moved house, unbelievable. How anyone do that is beyond me.

Anyway, I've stuck another couple images of Freddie up on my Flickr page which were taken this morning. He is currently sleeping...for now. He soon lets you know when he's awake though. Nothing wrong with his voice

If the guy went back and found the cat the plan was to take it to a vet, they will be at a social event that we shall be at in a couple of weeks time so I'll report back then.

It was just a shame there was no way of bringing it back when we left but it had been around for several weeks so hopefully a few more days won't have made a lot of difference, I've never had pets but can never understand how people can abandon them or ill treat them, unfortunately in this instance the owner had died.

Clever puss though he moved into a hotel he got fed very well by our group so I assume other guests did the same.

Aww Stephen he is a little cutie, how is he doing now? In fact he looks a lot like my cat Willow! She had some kittens with her too which unfortunately we couldn't also take when we adopted her from the RSPCA in November last year! Well she did have 5 and if our house was big enough I would have adopted them all. They all got re-homed though which is a good and I think Willow was pleased in one way that she got a couple of owners to herself as she's a bit high maintenance LOL! She is gorgeous though and so sweet, couldn't imagine our lives without her x

He is doing great thanks CL30 although I'm thinking of removing his voice box . I don't think he'll be squawking too much after the little surprise I have in store for him with the vet and two house bricks towards the end of August

When we told our two they were going to the vet for chop and chips they were delighted but, afterwards, they seemed a little underwhelmed!

Bring tears to your eyes They can now do the deed at four months where it use to be six. Modern anaesthetics I guess and takes around ten minutes or less for the males.

Our cat went under the floorboards yesterday whilst my husband was doing some re-cabling LOL! Does your cat or anyone else's cats like to do things like that? Willow likes to get and hide in everything! The worst is when she gets in the drawers under the bed and goes right into the base of the bed and we can't get her out LOL!

Many moons ago our first cat went up a telephone post and stayed up there for ages. In the end we phoned the RSPCA who said if hadn't come down after so many hours, five I think, to phone the fire brigade. Of course, he came down eventually, which was comical to watch as he shimmied all the way down backwards.

This one, Freddie always wants to walk across my keyboard (and everything else) as I am typing, so apologies for any strange spelling. He is fascinated with the monitor, especially each time the image changes, eye and paws everywhere

HAHA its funny when they have to try and get themselves down from somewhere like that! Willow always goes up this big tree in the garden and then meows like she can't get down! I always say to her if you can get yourself up there you can get yourself down LOL!

Aww so sweet when cats do that on keyboards! My brother's cat used to do that and chase the mouse on screen!

Sadly that wasn't an option as we were on a full coach of people and whilst some wouldn't have minded there would have been a few that did, we had already had a few 'tuts' because we were feeding it, we didn't have our usual driver either who is the son of the owner ( he would have probably gone along with bringing it back )
