Morning all you pinchers,

My first weigh in since returning from Azura last Sunday.

I put 7lbs on during the 2 week cruise. This is really good for me as generally I put a stone on. I think it is because I stayed off the cocktails and drank wine or spirit with low cal mixer instead.

During this week I have lost 4 lbs so 3 to go to get back to pre cruise on Azura weight. That is my first target which I hope to hit by next weekend.

Next target is to work on the 14lbs I didn't lose before the Azura cruise to get back to my pre cruise on Arcadia weight and my final goal weight.

I have 7 weeks before my Adonia cruise so my target is 7lbs off.

Hope you have all had a good week.

Sue

Well done Jo and Sue on your weight loss and better luck next week, Keefy - just leave those poor jelly babies alone.

I am now 143 lbs so that is 1 1/2lbs down on last Sunday so going in the right direction. 3lbs more to lose to get back to my comfortable weight. My efforts were sabotaged mid-week by a neighbour who is a great cook who brought round 6 fresh cream cakes she had made because Ken had said he couldn't find any cream horns on Arcadia. Well, I couldn't let him eat all 6 so I forced myself to help him - they were gorgeous...... mmmmmm yummy

Well done Sue, keep on going. You really didn't put much on considering you had a lovely cruise - just hope I can manage the same!

Currently hovering, blasted annoying!

Another 2 lb off this week, now 11-5-0.

Well done, everyone who's, if not gone down, at least not gone back up!

Morning all. I haven't posted on here since 8th June as I have been having motivation problems  At least during those 4 weeks I have lost a further 3lb. Although I am going on holiday to the south coast next week so not sure how I will cope. We have booked room only so I'm not tempted by those cooked breakfasts

Susan - you have lost a further 3lbs so you are heading in the right direction so that should help motivate you. I find that if I weigh in on this forum every week it helps even if I have gone up, down or hovering. Perhaps that would help you. Also, as you get nearer your target it always seems that the loss really slows down and it can be frustrating. Going on holiday is always difficult but I expect that you will walk more without realising it as you wander around sight-seeing. That is always our saving grace as we find we cover a lot of ground without noticing it because there are lots of different things to look at.

Enjoy your holiday and I bet you come back with fresh motivation.

Alan - well done with your weight loss this week.

Woo-hoo! Started off the year with tight 36" waistbands - just bought some 32" trousers. Snug but not loose like the 34" I've been wearing recently!

Hey up pinchers,

Just got back from a long weekend in surprisingly sunny Wales. Even more surprised to find that l've only put on a pound while away. OK, l still have 3 lbs to go to reach my target weight with only two weeks in which to do it, but l will do it of that l am in no doubt.

I can't tell how pleased l am with my pinchers.....a massive well done to you all on last weeks successes.

Well its time to prepare our evening meal which shouldn't take to long as it only requires a trip to the freezer for a couple of weight watchers meals....yum yum :lolno:

Stay strong pinchers and remember.... "If you're feeling particularly susceptive, avoid McVities chocolate digestive'

Low Fat Diet.

Since having a Ultrasound and being diagnosed with gall stones on the 10th June, I was advised to start a low fat diet, whilst I am on a 2/3 month waiting list to have my gall bladder removed. This I started immediately.

Already since starting the diet I have lost approx 7lbs, unfortunately it's 7lbs I cannot really afford to loose. It puts me below 12 stone for the first time in a very long time, don't know what I will weigh by the time I have the operation.

I do hope you don't suffer the chronic pain that Mobietta went through ... if you can afford it then consider going Private, it will be sorted out via keyhole surgery in no time at all and you'll feel a whole lot better for it. Well, after the first week and a little discomfort anyhow.

MOB

I have had those, in Feb 2013 I was rushed into hospital with excruciating chest pains. Having reached the conclusion it was not cardiac related, they decided it was gastric and it is for this I have been on medication. However recently the periodic pains which are extremely painful have increased to a daily occurrence, back to the doctors where a locom doctor sent me for an Ultrasound, which was about the only test I had not had.

My operation is being sorted by keyhole surgery at a private hospital, but is being paid for by the NHS.

Good luck Delboy,

You'll be fine - just hang on in there. Is there any way that you could undergo an endoscopy in the meantime and have stones removed.

Thanks Em

I have had an endoscopy about a year ago, this was when they decided it could be gastric. During an endoscopy the tube goes into your stomach, the stones are in the gall bladder, don't think they can do an endoscopy on the gall bladder.

By the way I apologise Onelife for going off topic.

No worries, mate, this is all about losing weight. You're just going about it a bit(?) more drastically than the rest of us.

All good wishes for a speedy recovery

Hi Delboy -

Oh yes they can! I understand in some situations it is done to 'buy a patient more time' whilst waiting for an operation slot.

The sickening thing was that Sue ran upstairs just taking her shoes off, got on the scales and was 1lb down! So she celebrated with chocolate cake!

On the other hand, apart from a couple of half glasses of wine and perhaps five gin and tonics, Sue didn't drink all cruise. I just had to drink the wine myself. If I get time I'll write a cruise report, because the Kiel Canal, and overnight stop in Kiel were great, and the Ballet, Stockholm, Bornholm and Malmo were similarly excellent ports. Add to that David Box as Captain, and a set of 8 differing but fscinating table companions, and even Sue is thinking of another cruise....Why I must be a 'ten bob millionaire!'.

Hi Delboy,

If Gall bladder pain is anything like Kidney stone pain then you have my sympathies. Apparently Gall bladder and Kidney stone pain are only one notch below that of giving birth/ labour pains so things could be worse if l suppose.

Hope it won't be too long before you're feeling a whole lot better, and don't worry about how much you are losing as you'll soon put it back on once your operation is behind yuu.

Best wishes

Regards

Keith

Having kidney stones feels like you've been kicked in the cashews a few minutes before - a sort of dull, yet intense, ache that is actually quite debilitating.

Here's to a swift recovery, Delboy.

Welcome home Frank. Never mind about the extra pounds, you've got all the time until the next cruise to get them off. There's nothing like a cruise looming to spur you on!!
Extra pounds must show what a good time you had.

Hi pinchers,

l hope Frank doesn't mind but l've opened a book on how much Frank has gained over this past ten days.

Box of keefy chocolates to the winner

I was going to say 16 lbs but he is a lot bigger than me so l'll edge my bet and go for a 6 lb gain.

Pleased to hear you had such a good time Frank
