Re: Changing Password
I have sorted my cookies settings on CCLeaner so that when it does its stuff once a week this one ( and a few more) don't get deleted... So I very rarely have to log in

Re: Changing Password
You still have to login with Tapatalk but Tapatalk holds your password for you. At some point you will probably be prompted to change your passwordAndrea S wrote:... have them together on tapatalk as it is so easy to enter. . With this I don't use my password but does it still need changing.?
There are always risks no matter how you access a site and where passwords/usernames are concerned those risks are the same no matter what device you use - a password is a passwordAndrea S wrote:As I only use I phone and I pad are there any risks.

So do I, but I hardly think my Cruise commumity password needs protection from hackers.Manoverboard wrote:Yes, I use a Norton Internet Security package and it was they who advised me about the raiding of passwords and the stealing of sensitive personal data ... remember the debacle recently re ' Heartbleed ' plus several others of course.towny44 wrote:.... Presumably you ( Meg and MoB ) are using some sort of virus protection on your computer, do you not trust it to do its job of keeping your pc protected, if so why not get something that will.
I would only consider using a product that is the custodian of my passwords for sites of no importance and certainly not for any site that involves financial transactions.

what a performance! I've just had to change my password - it took 5 attempts to get the old one correct!

Re: Changing Password
All passwords/usernames need protecting from hackers. As I said in an earlier post it is not necessarily about protecting your data (which obviously needs doing) but about protecting the site/database/server.towny44 wrote:I hardly think my Cruise commumity password needs protection from hackers.
I have a responsibility (both contractual and morally) towards the company that hosts my domains that I will endeavour to protect the server from hackers. Although the software used on this site is robust and has been security checked there is always the possibility that a hacker can find a "back door" through to the server.
This site gets many attempted infiltrations by spammers and/or hackers every day which is why there are procedures in place to block them and which do, on occasions, cause an inconvenience to members when accessing the site.

Re: Changing Password
It got worse - I forgot to click 'remember me' and when I came back I had to log in again - and I forgot there is a space in my user name. Another couple of attempts later!Meg 50 wrote:what a performance! I've just had to change my password - it took 5 attempts to get the old one correct!

Re: Changing Password
Well Smurfy I guess you will have to hope that my Norton 360 gives adequate protection from hackers trying to access my pc's, because I find that with all the non financial websites I use, the saved password feature is an essential tool to help me maintain access to them.

Re: Changing Password
Well I too have had the most frustrating time in changing my password! I did it somehow in the end, but what should be a relatively simple process by the look of the edit page, was not at all easy
. I got various messages including Member name does not exist
!! Somehow I managed it by claiming to have forgotten my password and getting a completely fresh one back. Then with heart in mouth, I changed that to something more memorable. Unfortunately, as did someone else, I forgot to tick the always logged in. Hey ho I will have to log in again ad do that I guess!
I was intrigued to read at the beginning of this thread that we are compelled to change our passwords every 6 months? To my certain knowledge it was very much longer ago than that!
Oh well, done now and back to my daily fix of cruise stuff!!

Re: Changing Password
I always used to use the saved password feature on my computer for virtually everything until I found out how easy it is to access all the saved passwords. Just three or four clicks and they are all there for anybody and everybody to view if they got access or stole my machine.
That is why I now use LastPass.
