Well done Sue, I'm sure you'll reach your goal in the next 3 weeks
Not final goal as will still have 1/2 stone to lose after that. 4lb is my target to next cruise in 3 weeks time. Then I will be working on whatever I put on plus the last 1/2 stone before our Xmas cruise. That will then take me to goal and the weight I was before we set on our 1/2 world cruise at the end of a Jan this year. Was it worth it? You bet it was.

All gone now Maureen. No more naughty days until Thursday when some cruising friends come over for tea. I love Magnums; I daren't even go near the ice cream cabinets. Have you tried Alpro choc deserts with Kelly's dairy cream ice cream?

No No, the Alpro choc deserts are a great accompaniment to Kelly's dairy ice cream, and Alrpo is soya, so "good for you".

Weight flatlining at present....try again tomorrow!

It's fine to hover now and again RB

It is difficult in this nice weather, I mean how can you sit in the garden and NOT have a nice cold beer or a glass of Vino.

Low Fat Diet.

Since having a Ultrasound and being diagnosed with gall stones on the 10th June, I was advised to start a low fat diet, whilst I am on a 2/3 month waiting list to have my gall bladder removed. This I started immediately.

Already since starting the diet I have lost approx 7lbs, unfortunately it's 7lbs I cannot really afford to loose. It puts me below 12 stone for the first time in a very long time, don't know what I will weigh by the time I have the operation.
Follow up on my above post, posted in July, weighed myself this morning, I am now down to 11 stone 9 ilbs, operation due 2 weeks tomorrow.

I don't know if its just me, but since starting the low fat diet, plus smaller portions the weight has just been dropping off, unfortunately as I stated above, weight I cannot afford to loose, cannot wait for operation so I can get back eating normal again

But for those of you who want to loose weight, I can recommend a low fat diet, plus smaller portions. Fat free milk, no butter on bread, boiled instead of roast potatoes, sorbet instead of ice cream, low fat salad dressings. Still eat bacon but thin slices grilled not fried and the odd low fat burger. Lucky the weather has been pretty good, so plenty of salads. Don't eat very much after 7pm, plenty of fruit in fridge such as cherrys, grapes, dried apricots and dates, to munch on when feeling a bit peckish. Also drink plenty of water. Cutting the lawn is about the most exercise I get.

The purist way to lose weight............don't shove so much food in your gob. That's the technical term

Thanks to that useful advice so beautifully given by Stephen, I didn't shove so much food in my gob this week and I weighed in at 140 and 1/2lbs this morning so down one pound since last Saturday. It might get a hammering tonight when our friends come for a drink but I will ignore tomorrow's extra pounds.

Have you ever thought of taking up motivational speaking, Stephen - you seem to have such a knack with words.

Forgot to weigh in yesterday. I'm down to 11-3-8, almost back to where I was two weeks ago.

Well done to Maureen and Alan.

I'm still hovering but will be making a conscious effort over the next few weeks to lose another 7lbs ( watch this space ) this is just for me though as I have reached my target but I wouldn't mind a few more pounds off.

Well Keefy is back tomorrow and I'm sure he will be delighted that in his absence his good friend Stephen has been giving such good advice and encouragement

Well done DQ.

I'm impressed with Shiney's scales. Mine only weigh in stones and pounds but I see Shiney weighs in ounces as well. Is he sitting in the kitchen scales perchance?

I must say Stephen has been an inspiration since Keefy has been away. I feel sure his measured and sensitive advice has been a great help.

I had been doing well, the weight was (eventually) starting to move. However after a week in London eating and drinking I put on just 2lbs which I am rather pleased about. With a cruise coming up shortly, and a bit of a more concerted effort I should be able to lose that and a bit more before I go. The only trouble is I have regained my taste for food (as opposed to green rabbit food) and chocolate, and beer, and wine.............. so they'll have to go on the back burner again.

They're electronic scales that weigh in metric, pounds and stones-pounds-ounces depenind on the setting of a switch, and have a large digital readout that I can see without my glasses!

So do mine Alan, I bought them back in January when we all started dieting as I wanted an accurate read .. those ounces can make all the difference to a good or bad week

I've got a pair like that but I'm not convinced of the accuracy. Just because it displays the small figures doesn't mean that it hasn't rounded off the figures somewhere. Mine seem to stick on the same figure for a week or so before then jumping to another. I've even tried picking up small weights to see if the figure changed, but no.

Our scales give a different figure depending on where they are placed on the bathroom floor so I go by the lowest figure just to keep myself happy and motivated.

One way of testing that Bob is to weigh yourself in your 'birthday suit' in the morning and then weigh yourself fully clothed during the day, we all weigh more when dressed if your scales don't move then yep they probably are faulty.

Well not as much damage as I thought. I have lost 1 1/2 lbs since my last weigh in.

2 weeks till the cruise.
