I enjoyed that Ray and it has made me realise how little we know about our own country. We are hoping to visit a few places on the mainland in the future - mind you, it costs £80 plus just to get the car off the Isle of Wight before we even think where we want to go but you have helped with some interesting ideas. I enjoy reading your blogs.

Thanks for posting your adventures in Suffolk - retirement is great isn't it  I was particularly interested in hearing you visited Diss - my son loved in Long Stratton for a few years and when we visited we explored the area and I remember visiting Diss. Hope you have a great time on Adonia and look forward to hearing all about it.

Very interesting Ray. We had a few holidays in Suffolk when our girls were smaller, rented a wonderful farmhouse just outside Bungay, the second time we went the owners had build on a large conservatory and we loved it. The sun always seemed to shine too.

Which Adonia cruise are you on? John and I are on the Baltic one in three weeks - already counting the days and making lists!

I was interested to read your blog, as breaks like that are something we want to start doing when we retire.

I think self catering cottages would be ideal.

I grew up in Essex, but only rarely ventured over the border to Suffolk, so it's very much a place I'd like to visit properly.

Thank you for all the info, it's really helpful
