Taking all things into consideration gaining 1 lb this week isnt a bad result. The week started with me putting my neck out which has been quite uncomfortable to say the least...squeak squeak. Then my wife and daughter up sticks, leaving me 'home alone' with only a tub of Quality Street to keep me company. If that wasn't bad enough l thought l'd found the winner of the Cambridgshire......nope!....so ate more chocolates as a way of easing the pain.

Hey Alan.....well done mate, what a terrific result....and 2.5 lbs aint bad going either Sue.....well done both

Stay strong pinchers and remember... " those of us with ample girth could be the butt of others mirth"

I have just seen a new motto on FB.

EAT FOR THE BODY YOU WANT NOT FOR THE BODY YOU HAVE.

How true.

Well done all you losers.

Your wife is a little temptress, Keith, isn't she - fancy leaving you with a tub of Quality Street. I hope you left her some.

We didn't get back to the Island till last night so this morning was the first chance to weigh myself. After eating out most days on our break in Sheffield, I knew we had over indulged in creamy desserts and was dreading the result but had gone down a lb to 139.6 lbs due mainly to all the walking we did (and not spending too much time in front of the computer). I have to try to maintain that for the next few weeks as we are then going on a 24 night repositioning cruise from Genoa to Barbados on the Ventura and I want to squeeze in to a new dress which I bought on holiday - it fits very, very snugly so I may not be able to breathe out when I am wearing it.

I don't know how you cope Sue with all your cruises - it must feel like a constant battle between cruises to lose what you have put on during the cruises.

Have a great cruise Maureen. Well done on your weight loss.
Yes it is struggle to lose the weight between cruises but then again if I didn't have a cruise booked I wouldn't have the incentive to lose it.

Hello pinchers. Still hovering around the 139 lb mark and about 10 more days till we cruise. Was hoping to go down a lb or 2 this week but blew the diet last night so got to have a bit more control this week.

Good luck everyone.

Good morning all.

A very modest loss the week - 6oz, so down to exactly 11 stones.

I shudder to think what it will be when we get back off our forthcoming cruise

I have had a really bad weekend. I had lost 1 lb up to Friday morning but this morning I had put 3lb on since then.
It has been hubby's birthday so out for an Indian meal on Friday and family party yesterday.

Not happy that it takes 2 weeks to lose 3lb and 3 hours to put it back on.

Lost a lb and a half since last week.

Lost 7lb over the last couple of months. No really dieting, curry once a week, and still have fryups at the week end.

I recently invested in a road bike and have been cycling about 45-50 miles a week around the local country roads. 25-30 at the weekend and 15-20 in the week. I eat like a horse when I get back but the weight has stayed off and I loose a bit as well.

Now I confess I was anti Lycra but by Jove those shorts do save your jewels

Well done, RB. I think exercise makes all the difference when you are trying to lose weight. Glad to hear the crown jewels are safe.

Anyone know if Keefy is o.k? He said in an earlier post that he had hurt his neck so hope he is feeling better.

Where is everyone? Xmas is coming and I need some inspiration to lose this excess weight.

I managed to lose what I put on last weekend plus 1/2 lb. Need to do much better.

Not a good week for me - up 1 lb 4 oz. Still, as I'll be eating like a king on Oceana for the next 12 days (from Tuesday), I'll consider it training!!

I'm doing quite well but haven't been joining in as anything I lose now is 'for me' so I didn't want the pressure of feeling I must do it .. I will report back just before my cruise with the end result though :D

I've obviously missed Maureen going off on her cruise .. I thought she had a couple more weeks to go - so Maureen if you look in I hope you are having a fab time.

Thanks Jo but I'm still here. We fly Wednesday to Genoa to join Ventura. Genoa has had very bad weather which has caused mud slides so weather looking iffy around that area. I've also made a big mistake in reading about a recent cruise from Genoa to Venice and Dubrovnik some time in September when a freak wave really caused Ventura to tilt badly to one side. I think I had better stop reading anything else.

Anyway, I'm still around the 139 lbs mark. I was hoping to do slightly better but we had a day out to Arundel yesterday and our friends introduced us to a TGI Friday which we have never been in before. The portions were huge and as they were paying we felt obliged to eat up and not waste anything - well that's my excuse anyway.

Enjoy your cruise, Alan after all that training ! Well done on your loss, Sue - I will probably be joining you on a diet again after 24 nights.
Maureen.

I haven't missed you then Maureen so have a great time

Don't worry too much about what you read, I've read when people have been in a force 4/5 and were convinced the ship would sink, I've been in a force 12 and still felt safe, I'm sure the people who do worry really are concerned and it feels very real to them, personally I like it when the ship is bouncing around a bit makes you feel as if you are more at sea

Wishing you calm seas all the way.
