2014 Strictly come Dancing

Unread post by Frank Manning »

Is no one else watching this? Frankie Bridge and Kevin did an amazing routine on Saturday. Pixie Lott, and Jake, all three 'fab -u lous' already 'daaaahling'!

What a great evening's TV;

Songs of Praise
Countryfile
Strictly Results
Monsoon
Sacred Rivers

and I dont need Sky for any of them.

Whats more; Luton up to 4th in Div 2 already!

Yes Frank another fan here. Great line up this year. Just wish they would get rid of Scott and Judy. They are really winding me up.

Don't know who these so called celebs are? I'm a bit underwhelmed with Strictly this year and I'm normally a great strictly fan. Can't they get some household names?

Judging by some of the costumes it looks as if the wardrobe budget has been cut this year

Caroline will walk it ;)

Darcey is looking a bit rough lately. She looks as white as a sheet, and her hair looks like it's been styled by Stevie Wonder. Perhaps the make up artists are practising for the Halloween show. Having said all that, I wouldn't kick her out of bed

I dont think Caroline will win, but she might be in the final four. As for Darcy; she was wrong about Thom's open mouth, and he put her right about the original version. They might not be household names but I said to Sue, that its strange but I dont intensely dislike any of them this year.

Be patient they'll go soon enough. The downside is that once they've gone, the better dancers will be kicked off. My bet's on Frankie to win (and Pixie and Caroline and Jake) :?

And another thing...

What really used to get up my nose was when a couple got a standing ovation (which now happens after virtually every dance) Brucie would say, "Look they're all standing Look! Look!" and now Tess has started doing the same thing! For goodness' sake, the contestants can see for themselves.
Nostalgia ain't what it used to be.

No Aliona!!!  What next, Ola going out?

I can't understand how Scott and Judy have survived. There must be a lot of people out there with a warped sense of humour probably keeping them in to see them struggle. Neither of the two who were in the dance off this week deserved to be there compared to those two. Frankie is a lovely dancer, as is Pixie.

Whilst I enjoy Strictly I find the fill-in bits silly and boring. I would much rather see them at practice than these pathetic stage-managed scenarios.

I see the BBC still don't know the difference between a scoreboard and a leader board
I still don't know why it aggravates me so much

What has happened over the summer to Claudia Wlnkleman. She looks strange. Has a botox job gone wrong ?

I think it is her eye makeup John and agree she does look different. One thing is that she is wearing brighter colours which I think suit her better than the black she always used to wear.

The partnership between her and Tess seems to be working well too.

I still am a great fan of Strictly and watch all programmes if possible.

I have however stopped watching the early evening Take Two with Zoe Ball. I find her just too OTT. This is only my opinion.

My favourites at the moment are Pixie, Jake and the girl from the Saturdays group. There are a few in the middle who are very good too so it will be interesting to see what the situation will be in a few weeks time.

I know he is near the bottom of the board but I thought Tim tried really hard and although the dance content wasn't up to much the performance was very amusing. However I think he does look tired so maybe it is getting too much for him. The training they do must be very hard and exhausting.

The contestants are fine. It's Tess Daly I cannot stand with her terrible dress sense, irritating facial expressions, and ludicrously exaggerated northern vowels (usually says 'joodges and cooples, but occasionally forgets and pronounces them in a normal northern accent). Grrrrrr.

She was wearing deliberately exaggerated make-up under her eyes, I think. Some sort of in joke?

Actually, I think she's great - witty, natural and intelligent.

That 'joodges and cooples' thing drives me nuts! I am relieved it's not a normal northern accent!

I like Frankie and Kevin from Grimsby

I'm afraid Judy and Anton will be with us for a while yet. It's all the women of a certain age who are fans of Andy Murray and Anton voting for them. (Don't blame me, I am a woman of a certain age, but I'm not an Andy and Anton fan! )

Have to agree there OBF. Those silly stage managed things irritate and detract from the sometimes excellent dancing. I miss Flavia from the show, and Robin. I am ambivalent about the presenters, and I can put up with the judges silly vyeing for attention, just as long as we get good dancing; like Frankie's 'I like to be in America' routine. I could watch that again and again.

Claudia's heavy eye makeup was a joke against herself ... She had a make up malfunction when her eyeliner smudged at the GQ awards last year. Good for her to be able to laugh at herself.

I think Tim is doing very well concentrating on what he is doing when he is with Natalie. She was part of a Strictly cruise we did and came across as a very friendly and warm person - and very attractive!!! If he finds it is all getting too much for him can I volunteer to step in in his place?
