Re: Useful European Laws
How about banning people in lifts who haven't bothered to wash or have their clothes cleaned and those who have had a bath in very strong perfume. Both make me gag and I've got to get out of the lift because I can't stand the stench.

Re: Useful European Laws
Going back to the original post I just wonder if the following should be banned:-
Guests who get into lifts with trays loaded with hot food and drinks to take back to their stateroom.
I have come across this numerous times and on one occasion the lift was quite full and because it was a formal evening most people had their posh gear on.
The guest with tray was a rather frail lady with a very full tray .She squeezed into the lift and no one looked very happy about it . One gentleman very politely said '' You do know that you could get room service to deliver food''... there were various mutterings of ''Here Here'' The lady in question ignored it all
I think this is really a Health and Safety and Safety issue.
Ship in question was Queen Victoria . There was nothing as far as I could see in the information book in the cabin to say that food should not be conveyed by guests in the lifts. I think perhaps there should be, or at least some guidance issued.

How about a law that says that the UK can ignore any EU legislation it disagrees with, in the same way that most of the rest of Europe does.

I am not yet frail but I do have to often take a meal to my OH in the cabin because they are unable to get to either the MDR OR the buffet. I will take note to avoid the lifts in future. I get enough tutting when I do so anyway!!!Anne D wrote:Going back to the original post I just wonder if the following should be banned:-

Well Anne, I don't mind people whizzing up and down in a lift with a tray of food and drink; my reaction would be 'where's the shindig then?'.
I think that until 2015 I'm going to give up whingeing anyway - it's a wrinkle prevention scheme, therefore cheaper than buying face cream.

Good idea Em . How long do you think it will last. I am afraid I will just have to keep using the cream.Boris+ wrote:Well Anne, I don't mind people whizzing up and down in a lift with a tray of food and drink; my reaction would be 'where's the shindig then?'.

By the way I loved the Christening cake as well. Lemony sounds great . Just my sort of cake.

Currently my glass is way over half-full, I can see the positive in everything - and just hope I don't annoy anyone.
The christening was a quiet affair, but we had a lovely time, and managed to limit ourselves to not too much cake!
Here's wishing that everyone has a glass as full as mine - somehow.

The trouble is Graham the EU are doing all the hand helping.........into the UK coffers. As if we don't give them enough as it is.
