I hear Kevin (from Grimsby) injured himself. Shall I take on Frankie Bridge for him?

That's a joke   Frankie would have to teach me, and we would be out first week. That's if her toes lasted that long with my size 13 feet. Poor girl might be crippled for life.

How Scott Mills is still in it I don't know. Even he looked surprised.

There are obviously more people in the country who wouldn't know a good dance from a plate of chips than I thought.

Sorry to see Tim voted off, but he was a bit wooden and didn't really entertain the way other non dancers have in the past.

Also sad to see Tim go but what a gentleman. Gracious in defeat.

How many times do you need telling? - it has nothing at all to do with dancing - it is called entertainment

.......................... and we'll miss the lovely Natalie. Tim didn't stand a chance against the other fella - chalk and cheese. Even I could make a better fist of it than Scott Mills.

I'm sorry, and there was me thinking it's called 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

Perhaps you should have a word with the BBC David and tell them they've got it all wrong. Yes, it is also entertaining, but I'm sure the celebs who are training hard all week on top of their normal jobs would say they otherwise.

And no, I don't need telling, thank you David.

We have the same arguments every year, but I wouldn't like to see the public vote removed, because the judges too have their faults, and the closer it gets to the final the more the public can counterbalance those faults. I too think Scott should go, but I cant argue against Tim this week. Th moment he put that ridiculous costume on he was on a loser. It looks good on a Spanish bull fighter, but not on an antiques expert of Tim's antiquity.

I am getting to like Thom Evans; very good this week.

That was a big surprise seeing Thom out of the show so early. No doubt the trolls will be at work already. We are not voting this year because there are 4 or 5 at the top and we like them all, and we are enjoying the show without the angst of having a favourite. No opinion on Claudia and Tess, and the music is as always great to listen to.

As is always the case, dire dancers will survive a week or two more. The public vote on people they like as much as dance skills so, for example, Scott, who has all the dance ability of our ironing board and we don't like much either, has a large fan base from his day job who will vote for him. Similarly Judy has fans voting for the older woman. But neither of them will beat the top four or five really good dancers.

As for Claudia/Tess, I think it is working well. Claudia is naturally quick witted and funny and doesn't need old jokes scripted for her as old Brucie did. Big improvement we think.

I had a bit of a melt down last night when Thom and Simon were set against each other. Both men improved week on week, whereas Scott and Judy are not making any impression, however hard they work. The judges weren't too pleased either. Do people actually vote for Scott and Judy, and dare I say it Alison? We never hear how the voting went, I certainly can't understand how it works. :?

However, as we don't vote, we can't complain too much can we?

The music is just fab- u- lous, and Dave Arch (sp) does not get the recognition he so clearly deserves. Strange thing is, however much we mutter about the system, we keep on watching

Makes you wonder what the point is of having judges, as it doesn't make the slightest difference to the end result.

If it carries on as it is with the stupid public voting I'll give up watching. Mind you, having said that, I don't know how Craig and Darcey could say Tom was better than Simon. A blind man could have seen Simon won it by a mile.

We keep on watching Jay because there is naff all else on worth watching, unless your into repeats.

its all very simple really and why people get their knickers in a twist about a piece of televisual fluff is beyond me
the reason anyone , good or bad , is in the bottom 2 is because people didn't vote for them
ever so simple really, a bit like all those who moan about it every year
it is as much a popularity contest as a dance show
I would have though most well rounded and semi intelligent people would have got this by now??? :?:

Quite right Stephen. We have to watch "It takes two" as well.

You may say that DK, however, I consider myself and all of my friends " well rounded and (semi) intelligent people" and not one of us sees the programme as anything other than a DANCING competition.

Not a view shared, I suspect Jay-ell, by either the producers or most of those who vote. If it was, the worst dancers would always be in the dance off and that is so often not the case.

if it were purely a dance contest then there would be no need for a phone vote
the judges marks would be final and the lowest would be out
but think of all that lost revenue from people voting and there would only be one programme and not the farce that is the results show

For us it is great 'escapist' entertainment. We dont like to see people like Thom go out when flat foot Alison, Wooden Scott, and Judy, stay in, but everyone knows it may happen. Especially when you allow the public to vote, and worse we dont get to see how they calculate the results.

However we are both enjoying it even more this year, including, as Jay says, Zoe Ball on 'It takes two'.

The strictly voting patterns clearly emphasise why democracy is not the ideal way to run either a dance contest or a country. :sarcasm: ;)
