I would have liked a nice little 'tableau' of illumated animals (maybe a polar bear or two and a reindeer or something - but all in scale) outside in the garden, and I would have loved a little illumated 'festive village' miniature porcelain building for the lounge - but it's just not going to happen for 2014.

but we only ever have white loo roll.

It's called 'being considerate' - I'm not the only person in this house, and I always take into consideration the views and feelings of others.
For example, I recently had guests staying, and I knew that they had a dislike for a particular colour which happened to be the accessory colour for one bathroom - so I changed it all just for their visit. Once they had gone, it was changed back to how I like it.
So - the opportunity for acquiring the little outdoor bits and pieces and the other indoor items has been and gone. I've moved on - but it wouldn't have been overdone, anyway - just enough and no more.

Some decorations have already been taken down but, having had a lazy day watching all I missed that was worth watching over Christmas, tomorrow all the lights and trees will be stored away. I can't abide then being up for very long after Christmas.
