STOP PRESS

The Boss has decided that Footy is really really important and that it should therefore be moved back into the General Chat Forum where it rightfully belongs, albeit when he finds the time ;)

Another Sunderland fan here. I don't get to go as often as used to but try to get there when I can. I love the stadium of light but I miss going up the steps in the Fulwell end at roker park, I love old football grounds but it was time to move on.

The Hull City fans in my dear old town are enjoying themselves at the moment. Do you non eggchaser types think that they'll be up there at the business end of the season?

Impossible to call in reality, it all depends on how much the players themselves want it.

Some will see it as a threat to their livelihood given that they will be booted out or sidelined because they are not quite good enough to play at the higher level. The teams with the most number of players who have the most to gain will therefore gain promotion.

For me Hull will be in the playoffs but will not be promoted.

Did anyone else notice this little oddity from Saturday's games......Harlepool 2 v Notts County 1....So what I hear you cry....have a look at the goalscorers...for Notts County Jamal Campbell-Ryce scored...so what..but for Hartlepool the scorers were James Poole and Peter Hartley....

Hartlepool's goals were scored by Hartley and Poole.

Get it :D ....Odd that, ain't it.

What's happening at Nottingham Forest? The trees have just lost another manager leaving them looking for their fourth manager since July. I always thought Sean O'Driscoll was doing an excellent job there and was building a good team so I was surprised when they sacked him. Now McLeish has left following a lack of activity in last month's transfer market. The fans must be wondering what's going on behind the scenes.

What a difference a new manager can achieve

Eddie Howe retuned to Bournemouth with the Cherries at the bottom of Division One

The Cherries are now almost at the top

Graham, some managers seem to "fit" certain clubs. It would appear that Howe is one of them.

When Nigel Adkins gets home from his holidays I think he is going to be in great demand.

Any thoughts on englands game tonight?

Im not the greatest lover of friendlies but thought england put in a good performance tonight everybody worked hard for each other. Superb finish from lampard.

Also Bale was is fine form again for the welsh, hes in a different class at the moment (im a spurs supporter). COYS

I have sat through many a boring England match, both competitive and friendly but it was a much better performance tonight. There seemed to be a good blend of youth and experience and England attacked with speed and in numbers.
It was a pity about Cahill's mistake but that's how it goes. Their goal was a good one as was Lampard's.

What a pity Bale decided to play for Wales and not for England.

Good game for a friendly....Joe Hart did well with their penalty...I think the players put in a bit of effort...a bit of pride in wearing the England shirt has returned....They wanted to do well..

Frank's goal was a good one as was Rooney's and Theo Walcott has come on leaps and bounds this season...What a player he will be in a couple of years time.

Have Brazil really got a striker called Fred  ...or is my earholes...

I did a bit of Channel hopping during the second half and saw a bit of Scotland, Wales and Ireland....Oh dear...but for a change I saw both of England's goals live...I missed Brazil's.

In case you have forgotten..Roy Hodgeson is Ex-Palace and was born in Croydon...just thought I'd remind you lot of that. :D

I was busy doing something else so missed it but in any event I am remaining totally focused on a win on Friday evening, tomorrow, when those buzzing Hornets take on the slippery eels of Palace at Vicarage Road ... kick off is at 19:45 and available to view for anybody who subscribes to Sky Sports or has a mate that does as in my own case
