Hilton Hotel Chilworth

Unread post by Dancing Queen »

I've just seen this and thought I would pass it on in case anyone has a reservation at the Hilton in the coming weeks, sounds pretty serious.

Quote:
An explosion has rocked a city hotel while fire-fighters battled a blaze taking hold in the building.

The fire broke out at the Hilton Hotel in Chilworth at 11.16am today.

Crews of 55 firefighters from eight stations across the Southampton area have been tackling the flames which is thought to have started in the hotel's sauna.

Ouch! Thanks. Will keep an eye on that. We're booked in next March.

Gosh that doesn't sound good. We looked at this hotel for the night before our QV trip next month, but went for the Grand Harbour - I'm glad we did. Hope things can be restored ASAP and that nobody was hurt.

It was on the news earlier and the exterior looked ok but I suppose it depends how much damage has been done inside, we often use the Hilton but fortunately hadn't booked it for before our next cruise in a few weeks time.

No reports of any injuries Gill so hopefully there weren't any casualties.

We've been lucky too - but after our last visit to the Hilton we changed our next hotel stay to somewhere different.
