Nice win foxy. Just what you needed with so many games over christmas and new year.
We made hard work of it but the hammers are a difficult team to beat at home.

Re: Football 2014/15
Gillingham part company with Peter Taylor so a new manager for 2015
Can't say that I'm totally surprised due to his tactic of trying not to lose a game instead of trying to win it.
Last time he was at Gills he was quite attacking minded and led us to the Championship but this time it has been very different.
He often set up with five across the back, even at home, with a sole striker.
I know Chelsea & City do that, but look at their midfield.
Anticipation now of who will come in.
My choice would be Uwe Rossler. Did a good job at Brentford before being tempted by the money.

Re: Football 2014/15
Uwe Rösler would be a good call as your next manager. He seemed to be building a good team at Wigan so not sure what went wrong there. They played good football and seemed to be on the up. I suppose you never know what goes on behind closed doors but I have always rated him.
Not surprised you got rid of Peter Taylor. I have never been able to understand how he reached the heights he did. He was a disaster when he managed us although he did fairly well at Hull, surprisingly. You only have to look at Eddie Howe who is doing well now but it didn't work out when he was managing Burnley. There seems to be no certainty when sacking and appointing new managers.
There's quite a merry-go-round of managers at the moment though.

Liverpool and the ref 2 Leicester 2. Great fighting spirit from my team today and that's 4 points from a possible 6 in two away matches. Is this the beginning of a fightback?

And it's a happy house here in Huddersfield - for once!
A well deserved win against a good footballing side, in appalling conditions.
I'm not sure Moby will be quite so happy though....

Well done Huddersfield, I am always happy-ish to lose to any team who is managed by an ex Hornet
... our lot probably thought the end of the World had come once the snow came down
Well done those Foxes but New-gent can't seem to hit a barn door from 10 feet these days can he.

Re: Football 2014/15
Nothing much to say really
We sack the manager just as results are picking up ????
Replace him with a temporary ex-manager who was fired for under achieving and he manages three successive defeats.
The lunatics seem to have taken over and it's now going to be a tough slog.
On the positive side - enjoyed the Arsenal game and well done Foxes

Never got going today so didn't deserve anything. Another miserable weekend.
Thankfully we are still only 3 points (ish) from safety but we have some tough games coming up. At least the new lad looked lively.
No joy for Romig's lot either but Watford took Charlton to the sword. Well done Mob's lot!!
Barney and Frank are going to be happy tonight with welcome wins.
Good luck at Maine Road Arbie!!

Yep, 5:0 but we didn't move up a single place in the League although it's Blackpool at home next week so have a chance to repeat this week's performance ... consistency is deffo what we need at this stage of the season.oldbluefox wrote:Never got going today so didn't deserve anything. Re: Football 2014/15
A rare home win for us.
1-0 down with ten minutes to go, by way of a very soft penalty and we were chucking the kitchen sink at them.
Just when it looked like 'another of those days' we got one back. Very deserved.
Then the dodgiest penalty in the history of football. Awarded by a linesman who up to that point, had given us nothing.
But the third was absolutely smashed in by super sub McGlashen
We're going out tonight or I'd be on the sauce already.

Some interesting scores today but good to see all of our teams having wins. It's up to RB's lot to keep the good run going.
If the Hornets keep this run going refs will soon be needing a calculator to keep up with the score. However it was against Blackpool, a club in complete turmoil due to total mismanagement. I feel sorry for their supporters.

Even as a Hudds supporter, I was really pleased to see how Bradford fared against Chelsea. Jon Stead (one of our own, but on loan at Valley Parade) scored Bradford's first then got 2 further assists. Really pleased for him, as he is a real genuine local lad, done good. Up the Bantams!

...but league performance of the week (or month) must go to the Hornets - goodness knows what the manager said at half-time, but he needs to bottle it!

Brilliant result for Bradford and well deserved from what I have seen. No wonder the Chelsea supporters were subdued on the tube this evening.
It follows on from a gutsy display by Cambridge United last night.

Well, back to back wins for the first time in many a day.
A very tight league where we've gone from the drop zone to six points from the play offs in two weeks.
Still no manager by the way, Maybe that's the future and others will follow suit.

Well done RB. You'll be a happy bunny tonight.
A good weekend for most of us.
It would be nice to complete the double over Man Utd next week.
