Can I post links to photos?
Just want to check before I do it?
If I wanted to share some cruise pics from my facebook account is this allowed by just putting the link in the thread?

I can see no reason why not ... if they are your pictures then placing a link on this site should be fine.
The only limitation is that you do not post loads of photographs that get directly rendered into the threads (some peoples broadband is not as fast as others)

I am probably being a complete dunce but I'm blowed if I can work out how to post a photo (from my pc) within the body of a post. Most of the ones in the examples given are from web-based applications so is it even possible to include yrou own photo, please?

I thought that ' Meg 50 ' had asked this question and that D63 said it is possible but the feature is switched off .... he is presently thinking about the implications.
Apologies to D63 if this is duffo info.

You can upload a photo to the Gallery and use that or you can link to a photo anywhere else on the Web but you cannot add a photo directly from your PC.
The reason why you cannot upload a photo directly into a post is that there are potentially a major security issues with doing so - an image can, and has been known to, include some code that can destroy not only a site but the entire server. There is a major difference between uploading a photo onto a site with some accompanying text and loading it directly into a database.
The ability to upload photos into a post will not be implemented on this site - but linking to them elsewhere is OK

OK, thanks. Sorry if I was asking a question that has already been answered elsewhere

You can post photos as a link but you cannot post them directly into the text

Re: Can I post links to photos?
It was said that pics couldn't be posted .... ?

So ....
Cog / Gallery / Manage Personal Albums / Create a Subalbum / Upload a Pic from your PC ... then ...
Locate the pic, copy the wwwdot and then post it using the ' Img ' option.
