Life Insurance: where to start
we have various things in place already
but I am considering a stand alone life insurance policy with Lady Dark as sole beneficiary
can anyone recommend a good company or scheme?
Thanks

I am guessing that you are not talking about something that pays our ten bob (although there are probably some who might consider that excessive for you
)
I trust that you will not be informing Lady Dark of this otherwise your demise could be imminent
Seriously I would think that to get all the best tax benefits that you would need some professional advice - particularly having seen some of the tricks that the financial industry has been up to in recent years.

Unfortunately most IFAs tend to promote what is best for them
You're a savvy bloke DK, you can do the maths and figure it out for yourself.
My recommendation is buy a decent fire proof safe, save the premium money in cash and squirrel it away.

That used to be the case, but since commissions were largely done away with, truly independent financial advisers go with the best product for the client. Tied agents could only recommend products offered within the group they worked for (eg, a Lloyds adviser could only offer Scottish Windows).
When I was in the industry, many policies could be obtained only through an IFA - the likes of Skandia did not do business directly with the client.

I took out a policy when Sue and I were very young and it is still going. If I were you DK I would go to an independent insurance broker. However, I have also heard that NFUMutual are good. Good luck with it.
