Chris Huhne
Although not a LD suppoerter I feel a bit sorry for CH, there but for the grace of God go a lot of others who have done the same thing.
I feel less sorry for his wife who "shopped" him for dumping her.

Re: Chris Huhne
I am afraid I can not share that sympathy, towny. He knowingly did something wrong and then went on to lie about it on many occasions.
I expect our legal system to deal with him in exactly the same manner as anybody else who committed similar offences ... and on other boards I have read posts were such perjury and lies has resulted in prison sentences.
As far as his ex is concerned, if she had have 'shopped' him for the right reasons, then it would be forgiveable, but to do it out of pure spite ... I hope the courts treat her in a similar manner for lying.

Sorry, Towny - they're both 'bad'.
One for lying and the other for using the info for the wrong reasons

Re: Chris Huhne
I can understand him wanting his wife to take the rap especially if he had set his sights on becoming the minister for transport
He should have paid his fine and be done with it.
Foolish man!!
As for his x wife I do have a little sympathy for her as she probably was coerced into it...what she did from then on was wrong but as the saying goes...A woman scorned.....

No Sympathy for either of them
spare a thought for the son, who has been dragged publicly through the mess that is his parent's life
they are both stupid and irresponsible people who deserve everything they get

This has been dragging on for so long, I am afraid I am way past caring about what happens to either of them

I heard tonight he already had 9 points on his licence, so can understand getting her to take the points. However, they are both as guilty as each other, him for doing it and her for shopping him in spite. Be interesting to see what sentences they get :-0

Now that sounds a wee bit extreme from a fellow resident of Gods own County, are you a secret speed camera supporter Romig?Romig1 wrote:...and they too should feel the full weight of the law upon them.towny44 wrote:Although not a LD suppoerter I feel a bit sorry for CH, there but for the grace of God go a lot of others who have done the same thing.

I hear the Wicked Witch is now saying he forced her to have an abortion. Just lock 'em both up and be done with it - preferably in the same cell !!

Re: Chris Huhne
Don't know why but I am very uncomfortable with people airing their domestic affairs in public....Huhne will be dealt with by the courts for lying and to be honest I don't want to hear or read about their rows and disagreements, that should be done behind closed doors..
It's none of my business and I couldn't careless.
It is a shame in a way because despite his 'porkies' he was a very good MP and Minister....Cameron never liked him anyway, he wasn't a 'yes' man that the PM likes to surround himself with.

Blimey Towny, I'n certainly no speed camera lover. However, I do believe that once caught, one should face up to the punishment and not pervert the course of justice which is a much more serious matter.towny44 wrote:Now that sounds a wee bit extreme from a fellow resident of Gods own County, are you a secret speed camera supporter Romig?Romig1 wrote:...and they too should feel the full weight of the law upon them.towny44 wrote:Although not a LD suppoerter I feel a bit sorry for CH, there but for the grace of God go a lot of others who have done the same thing.

I thought it was the 'perverted' behaviour that got you caught ... my eyes still have to be bathed nightly in domestos after the balcony and shower shotsRomig1 wrote:However, I do believe that once caught, one should face up to the punishment and not pervert the course of justice which is a much more serious matter.
More seriously though I agree with you ... and given his position I believe both should be treated very strictly .. possibly at the upper end of sentencing that a judge can call upon.

Here's a perfect option for the Eastleigh MP..... a local lad who's seen the country (and of whom the country has seen in full)!

Could be interesting as he took his seat for the first time...
